You have to love the contradictions! So when Mayweather didn't fight nobody Margarito and nobody Cotto because they hadn't faced ANYONE of note he was ducking, but when Pac won't fight champions in his division because they haven't faced ANY top WW's it is cool? :huh

I doubt we'll see it too. But Berto cannot sit back waiting to fight JrWW's or callinbg out the biggest names in boxing, expecting a fight when his resume is VERY pedestrian right now. Why isn't he trying to fight Paul Williams? Or Clottey? He has a mandatory that he says is NOT big enough a name to fight (irony right there). That said, I doubt HBO would approve us it.

Margarito let his hands go a lot too, yet his fight was close. Look, all this "He said blah blah" is just that, talk. If he said he'd KO Pac, would you have believed that? Pac threw MORE in his fight vs. Clottey then he ever has. Pac threw a lot, but only vs. CLottey was he in the low 100's per round. Pac upped his output and nullified Clottey's effectiveness.

Mosley isn't shot, he just isn't in his prime anymore. There are many ways Pac vs. Margarito could pan out. Yes, Pac CAN win with ease. He has the skillset, speed, and output to make Margarito's life a living hell.

Also, Pac's punches might not be efective vs, the much larger Margarito. He could get cuaght by one of Margarito's great uppercuts. Margarito is also excellent to the body.

Margarito does not necessarily need his power, since Pac is the much smaller guy here. Margarito might not be able to hurt some JrMW's, but he can hurt a small guy like Pac.

As for the title....so ****in what? It's a vacant belt that YOU GUYS are making into a big deal. To me, it's nothing. Just an empty belt. If you are more worried that Pac will be called an 8 division Champ over a 7 division champ, I got news for you. 7...8 it really doesn;t make a difference in the big picture. There are 4-5 belts in each division. Being a # division champ isn't the same anymore.

Are you aware there's not even any correlation there? When Margarito was trying to fight Mayweather, Margarito had beaten more Ring Ranked WW's then anyone else in his division, INCLUDING Judah, Baldomir, and Mayweather COMBINED. Is that what Berto's done? Beaten a ton of Ring Ranked WW's? :huh

 

I hope he fights a real Welterweight.

 

Berto is a champion going for a big name and money fight. Why can't he expect this? Margarito is getting Pacquiao and he had to fight to get his license back. :huh He's trying to get what he believes he is true. And seeing how others are getting treated to fights I can't blame him.

You are not looking at this situation specifically. Clottey said he would throw 4 minimal punches and allow Pacman to throw a lot. This is EXACTLY what happened in the fight! It's not like the usual Roach saying he expects a Pacman KO. Clottey knew what he was going to do in this fight and what he was going into this fight doing was a disaster. If you have someone who plans to sit and block all of Pacmans punches then throw out a few himself of course Pacman is going to sit there and unload all day. How can you not see how obvious this is?! I'm genuinely confused.....

Mosley isn't in his prime anymore, true. He is still a threat to many many opponents out there in my eyes though. We will see how Margarito vs Pacman pans out. I'm going with Pacman overwhelming him with speed and movement and Margarito showing no real threat. And no power of course :smoke

Okay so 4 times 3 is 12... and 30 punches times 3 is 90... So Clottey threw around the 4 punches an exchange he planned and Pacman got in a good 35-36 instead of 30 an exchange... Numbers kind of pan out right? What was your point again? :huh

Dude, he can expect to make 1 billion a fight as much as he wants. Doesn't mean it'l happen. I don't know how to explain this any more, but Berto's resume, even as a title holder, is WEAK. Ever heard of paying dues? Margarito did it for years before getting his big shot. Berto's only thing he has going is, HBO loves him.

Fighters need to EARN their big paydays, not sit back and wait for them ti fall in their laps.

Berto rejected a 50-50 split w/ Mosley. Why isn't Berto lobbying to get Paul Williams in there? MOney?

No Berto holds a title in the weight Pacman supposedly fights at but Pacman wants to instead fight Margarito at 151 for the 154 vacant title. Why again? Maybe you recall the **** Berto got for fighting for his belt? Do youi recall what was said? That he isn't ready, and that HBO's influence got him the title.

And do you recall what was said after? That he hasn't even shown to be a top WW by beating the other contenders. And since? Berto hasn't doen squat.

Maybe Berto is going for big name/money little risk? Maybe he's just going for big money period? If he has to beat on some unworthy opponent to get looked at so be it, but remember he was just in line to fight Mosley. Wasn't Mosley a title holder?
