If it isn't bad enough that Andre Berto crazy ass believes he has the speed and power to fight Mayweather .... But I think its funny his trainer said we need to work on Berto's heart. LOL How the hell do you work on a fighters heart? Take him in a dark alley and allow him to be jumped by ninjas. Do you practice drowning him in a pool at the local YMCA. Or do you performed open heart surgery on him? http://youtu.be/V7biQzEp7VU?t=47s
Heart is the least of Berto' worries. He actually has tons of heart. He's seen the final bell in three tough wars, and had good moments down the stretch in all of them.!
not a big berto fan but i can't question his heart. he was giving it his all against ortiz and guerrero.
I can see his trainer's point. In his losing fights, it seemed like Berto's goal was to see the final bell instead of trying to win
After the Ortiz loss, if one analyzes carefully its evident that Berto's confidence took a major hit. He probably watched Ortiz being easily outboxed by Mayweather and wondered why he had such a hard time. He probably admired Mayweather seeing him beat Ortiz relatively easily and from there he lost confidence in his style of brawling and aggression and tried to adopt Mayweather's style to better himself. This move ended up being even worse and he gave himself much more flaws than his previous style had. The punches that Guerrero threw went right over Berto's shoulder and right into his face. His lack of aggression evident in his previous style allowed him to get pinned on the ropes much more easily and pummelled. After losing, he was probably lost and doesn't know what to do. His trainer could very well be right with his analysis that his confidence A.K.A his heart needs improvement.
berto will never fight mayweather if theres anyone anymore undeserving of a shot at floyd its him, he's been exposed, floored, rocked and outboxed by 2 fighters who were new to 147. and at the time he was seen as 1 of the best fighters at that weight.
Exposed? The first fight was close and the second fight was because he didn't use his own style but tried mimicking Mayweather.
He looks discouraged if he's losing. He's still in there trying, but it's like he's only throwing power shots to try and get a quick KO, as it's not going his way. I don't question his heart as both eyes were ****ed in the Guerrero fight and he kept at it all night.. I just don't think he can adjust once he's started losing a fight, he relies too much on his speed and power looking for a one shot KO. Fell in love with his power fighting lesser opponents, thinks he can run through everyone now.
