Well, perhaps then Mayweather Sr. is telling the truth about Jr. supposedly just wanting a couple of easy fights.

Cherrypick or not, Berto just doesn't have the kind of appeal, or record, that is likely to captivate the public's attention.

I will give Team Mayweather this: If they do choose to fight Berto, then I think it's a smart decision to fight on free TV. I can't see a Floyd-Berto fight doing 1 million PPV sales, and such a poor PPV buy rate could look bad for Floyd after the record-setting Pacquiao numbers.

Berto's boxing record can be examined here:

since he started winning again, all he's done is win, and that's the most important thing.

That's definitely better, but the overall recent 3-3 record isn't exactly a publicity winner.

Look, it's up to Floyd who he's going to fight. If he chooses Berto, then he's likely to have to deal with the criticism.

I would much rather see Floyd fight an undefeated fighter than Berto. Someone like Thurman, or Golovkin, or Brook. Someone who isn't used to losing, like Berto recently is used to. Just as a fan, I'd be more interested in those fights.

We'll see what Floyd and Haymon come up with.

GGG is way too big, he'd get 0 credit if he brought him down to 152 they'd just callhim chicken ****, and at this point Thurman and Brook does nothing for his career.

I udnerstand as a fan I'd to like to see those fights way over Berto, but I can understand why Floyd wouldn't.

Thats fine and dandy, but pac fought algieri and rios, so i dont see what the problem is with Floyd fighting Berto on free tv, if it even happens. You guys are acting out with not one shred of evidence that this fight is even happening...Relax.

GGG is smaller than Canelo on fight night. If Mayweather can fight Canelo, I don't see why he can't fight Golovkin.

But we all know it's not going to happen. It just disappoints me as a fan.

is he? ggg looks far bigger than canelo, and let's be real Canelo is a draw, GGG/Floyd would do a mill max, no mexicans or casuals care about that fight. and he would get 0 credit either way, everyone would be crying how he is drained, and how GGG fought no one.

Pacquiao was coming off a devastating loss when he fought those two. Mayweather is not coming off any kind of a loss.

If Floyd wants to fight Berto on free TV, then that is his choice. It doesn't mean that all fans are going to be thrilled about it.

The fight may not happen, that's true.

Yes, GGG is smaller. At least on fight night, from what I've seen.

Casuals like GGG because of his fight style.

GGG is ranked like #4 PFP. Hard to think Floyd would get no credit for such a win.

Algieri was 3rd fight after KO. Still on the comeback trail, that's my take.

Look, if the Berto fight is on free TV, I'll watch it.

casuals dont know who the fk GGG is. The only casuals that knew Canelo were Mexicans, and they always buy PPV in bulk, it wont sell well, and he wont get credit. he's p4p #4 on ring that doesn't mean ****, he's not top 5 on a lot of lists, I'm Japanese and they have Yamanaka on there and dude doesnt deserve to be on there clearly. Rings rankings suck. I love GGG but the guys resume and the fact that he goes down to 152 will mean that we're going to hear he was drained, and he fought no one.
