That's the word.. Abregu fought on Shobox not too long ago and id prefer him than Rodriguez.. Rodriguez can't provide any kind of challenge.. What do u guys think of Abregu?
Delvin Rodriguez is hurt so he is not fighting Berto. Dan Rafael said Berto fight face IBF 140 champ Urango.
Sounds like Berto-Urango is most likely. And Abregu had terrible stamina issues in his last 10 round fight. Berto would wear him out around 9.
berto should be upping his level of competition if he ever wants bto hang with the big boys at welter. collazo was a great test and he just needs the next step up follwed by a rematch with collazo that he owes on his word.
I say he fight's a Judah, or **** it JL Castillo @ WW. (They are still around trying to get fight's) BUt that's the level Berto need's to be on, no lower than a former champion. (Who currently fight's @ his weight class)
It sounds like Urango's gonna be the guy and the fight most likely will take place in Hollywood, Fl. which means I'll be there. :happy
The fight that makes the most sense would be Mosley/Berto. It was strongly considered before Arum was able to secure more money for Margarito and that fateful night occurred. Even though Mosley probably wants a bigger fight than Berto, he doesn't have much in the way of options. It seems that he wants to wait out the winner of Hatton/Pacquiao, but it would sure be nice if he took on Berto in the interim. I'm just spitballing, though. Maybe HBO doesn't want to put up that kind of scratch on what is scheduled to be a BAD card. However, other than Mosley, I don't think there are many better opponents than Urango. Cotto and Clottey have their 6/13 bout to prepare for; Margarito is banned; Williams is preparing for his middleweight match with Wright on 4/11; Judah is okay but not significantly better; ditto for Quintana, in my opinion. As long as we assume the Collazo rematch is being saved for later in the year, this fight makes a great deal of sense.
True indeed however he leaves himself exposed to being countered with his wide punches and has never faced an opponent as fast as Berto. I believe Urango's posture also makes him vulnerable to the being uppercutted which is Berto's favorite punch. Urango is a horse at 140 but also is very slow. He certainly has the power to end a fight at anytime vs anybody but Berto should be able to use speed and his physical skills to outbox him for 12 rounds. Berto UD.
Abregu is good..... He's unbeaten... trained by Baldomir.... and is coming off of the biggest win of his career... close win but a win none the less... Wouldn't mind seeing Berto/Abregu.... Delvin did hurt his hand... If he didn't then I would rather watch that fight instead.... Delvin can box and the fact that at any moment that chin can betray him makes for a highlight reel in the making... Also he's coming off of a very good fight...
Last week I read that Dibella was open to discussing a Berto-Collazo rematch with King which would take place on May 30th. Today's news however is Urango will most likely Berto's next defense.
