Oh, please - I was calling Fraudley's glass jaw YEARS before he got starched by the light-hitting Sprott, I was out front on Litzau's china chin, and I was one of the few who smoked out Khan's shaky whiskers - and that's just three of the most recent ones! ESBers know well about my PROVEN chin-checking capabilities. :yep
Wepner's punch wasn't on Ali's chin.... Peter knocked Toney down, so does that mean Toney has a weak chin?
Zakman, you crack me up... Berto's chin is fine. Even a light hitting guy can KD anyone if they don't see the shot coming. Berto wasn't affected by any other shot that whole fight, he just never saw that uppercut coming, and it was a very hard clean shot. Notice he didn't get hit by that shot again? Cosme was trying to land it as well, but it woke Berto up. You guys questioning his chin should probably lace up some gloves and try this: Let's spar, and see if you can take my shot. then.. Let me suckerpunch you and see if you can take my shot. The whole thing changes when you know somethings coming.
Let me guess....you'll make thread after thread calling him glass jawed till he's KO'd then you'll gloat over it?:-(
I wouldn't say Rivera is a light hitter. He has 21 KOs in his 30 wins. Thats more than 60%, which isn't bad. As for Berto, I think he has an average chin. His chin was questioned before because I guess he had some problems as an amateur. Just like Andre Ward, we won't really know if Berto's chin is bad or not until they fight someone who can expose it. I will say this, he got off the canvas and won the fight, that should say something about his heart at least.
Berto's punching power is overrated IMO he hits with alot of speed and force which makes him a strong puncher like Jermaine Taylor but not murderous like Tito or Tyson, tonight he should have been charged a point or even DQ'd for his corner cheating.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Berto's chin is suspect at this point. His future fights will tell us whether it's just a little shaky or complete china. At this point, the jury's still out.
He has a suspect chin and his power is overrated. His speed isn't but his power is. He went 7 rounds with a guy James Kirkland knocked out in one round.
anyone who walks straight into a punch the way Berto did is going to be laid out. He got up quick and didn't even pull a Zab. I think he's got a pretty good chin and he's a hell of an exciting fighter! (especially compared to the likes of mayweather)
How can you tell he's got a pretty good chin. He didn't get up quick it wasn't like it was a flash knockdown where he got up fast. He stumbled to the floor after he got hurt and got up at 7. The bell pretty much saved him.
Cosme has 21 KO is 30 wins, so he can bring it..now...I didn;t watch the fight yet, I recorded ...but if Berto got up after the KD an stumble down..then by the rules the fight was over....after you get up from a KD and you stumble down again that automatic...and Charlie Fitch should have know that
I thought it was the discretion of the ref to stop the fight in that situation. Anyway, he stumbled but once he got up he was fine. He pretty much dominated that whole fight outside of getting caught with that uppercut.
Like I mentioned, I ahve not watch the fight as of yet, so explain to me Berto went down from the uppercut, he was down, he got up and stumble down...is that correct? BTW, I should have said unwritten written rule....regarding the issue of stumbling down after a KD
