    He already did fight someone, in Collazo and got exposed. Exposed as a
    B-level fighter who cant take the next step to The A-level. Rematch Collazo!

    This is from Rafael's blog;

    "So with Dec. 26 out the window, HBO is trying to persuade Mosley to move to Jan. 30, where the bout with Berto can be revived because the 2010 budget will be flush with cash. If only things were that easy. Here's where it gets a little complicated.

    Berto and his promoter, Lou DiBella, do not want to wait that long to fight. Berto hasn't fought since May and, at 26 and nearing his prime, doesn't want such a long layoff, and I can't blame him.

    On top of that, if he waits he risks being stripped of his belt by the WBC, which has ordered him to either make a mandatory or an allowance to unify with Isaac Hlatshwayo, with whom DiBella made a deal after the Dec. 5 fight with Mosley couldn't be finalized.

    Berto and DiBella are fine with fighting Mosley in late January, but want to be able to take a fall fight with Hlatshwayo first. However, HBO can't/won't give him a date to do it. "

    I agree. If I was a great Welterweight contender, i'd do anything to get a fight with him. Walk him down, as you said, he's ready for the taking.

    Heard that Clottey is looking for a fight on Dec.5th so why not defend your belt against a legitimate opponent if he's not going to rematch Collazo?

    As a fan of Berto, I have to ask who are these guys he should have faced already? Everyone mentions that he hasnt fought top 5 but I gotta think that Collazo at least was borderline top 5. Mayweather, Manny, and PW cant count as rated WW for various reasons. That leaves Mosley who tried to land a money fight, Cotto who was busy fighting Clottey and then Manny, and Clottey who was busy but now is available. I think Collazo is in the same group as Cintron, Zab, and Quintana in terms of quality. I think Berto gets no props for the Collazo fight because it was close but he did take on a quality slick southpaw that no one wants to face. I hope he unifies with Isaac and then fights the winner of Aydin and Collazo or if forced Bradley and Peterson.

    Floyd did it. Not saying its okay but Berto will get a big money fight against Floyd Jr or Timothy Bradley. Plenty of talent out there who aren't in big fights as we speak.

    I agree. I thought he was going in the right direction by fighting Collazo but he's done nothing since. He should be pursuing a rematch with Collazo. It's funny you mention him going to the club he was here in Houston last week at a party a friend of mine promotes at. He was the main attraction and it was for all purposes his party. Here's a pic with Berto and Mosley living it up.
