Styles make fights. Berto may be fast and slick but I really don't see him dominating someone as durable as Clottey. Look what clottey did to cotto. I think this is a good test for Berto. your take?

    How is Berto "slick"?

Clottey catches him with a bomb in the late rounds for a KO, somewhere around 10.

    Yeah, I said it.

Sometimes I get the impression that a boxer who moves exceptionally fast is a slick fighter. I could be wrong of course

Berto by easy UD, Clottey is just too inactive with his offence and the fight with Cotto had a lot to do with confidence loss and the cut on Miguel, Clottey's best win is Zab Judah, he looses all his big fights and doesn't have what it takes to beat Berto, that fight may turn out like Froch v. Abraham, fast punches with power scares Clottey and if Berto who is fast and powerful employs a high workrate and combination punching Clottey will just stay on defence and have flashbacks of his runny stomach and Pacquiao all over his ass.

I favor Berto but not by much. While Clottey is inactive his punches are effective when he does decide to let them go. Berto does have fast 1-2 combo hands. Not ATG level but enough to keep any boxers in check.

That being said, Berto is strong and fast. He will get 3-4 punches before Clottey responds.

I see this a very close to Clottey vs Cotto.

I think Berto by UD. Don't see him outworking Clottey like Pac, but as long as he's somewhat active and moves Clottey won't do enough for the win. Unless he cuts him like Cotto, that could spell trouble. Not sure how Berto would react, still I think he gets the UD.

Berto by decision, if only on the appearance of punches landing. His shots will bounce off of Clottey's guard all night long. But Clottey won't be active enough to persuade the judges to give him the decision.

But I trust neither Berto's defensive skill nor his ability to absorb punches. Clottey is an accurate hard puncher. Yes he seldom throws punches but when he does, it creates problems for his opponent. I think this is a really close fight

i think clottey would knock him out

he wouldn't come into the fight terrified in turtle shell mode like against pac

once he brings it to berto he will be too powerful for him

Another good fight Berto should take if available. I'd say it's a 50-50 affair, maybe leaning a bit towards Clottey on a close win.

    I agree, splendid fight.

Lol at people totally underestimating Clottey. You guys really need to watch more of him outside of Cotto and Pacquiao, honestly.

    I hate watching Clottey fight.
