I'd say Quintana decisions him right now. I'm not quite sold on Berto just yet. He's also in a jam packed division full of talent. If this kid isn't the goods he's going to get his head handed to him repeatedly. :nod

I think Berto could beat Quintana by next year (maybe even now). Berto is improving by the minute and has added some nice body work and a laser jab to his already established power and quickness. I think if Berto were to win its probably going be a combination of power, body work, and how fast he can finish a hurt Quintana. If we look at quintana 2 losses (cotto, williams 2) when he is hurt or in trouble early if you keep the pressure up he is beatable but Berto must be patient and pick his spots well with his fast jab. One fight I would stress Berto take after this WBC bout is Collazo It would be great preparation for a Quintana fight if he were to win that one.

I saw Berto dominating that entire fight. Rivera was running the entire fight before and after the knockdown. Ill give him credit because he pulled a savy veteren move and turned south paw and caught him with an uppercut. This is the sport of boxing and anybody can get caught in any given fight. Berto was young then and still is so he'll learn not to be so careless with his aggression. And BTW he's 21-0 with 18 KO's if im not mistaken. He scored a TKO victory over a tough Estrada which is something that Mosley couldn't do.

Berto can't be more easier to hit than Williams was in the first fight against Quintana because Quintana was cleanly tagging Paul with left hands the entire fight. Paul also wasnt doin any damage with his punches as he was doing more slapping than punching. Berto with his speed and power would certainly make Quintana pay any time he would leave an opening. And after seeing Quintana fold the way he did last night, Im convinced he wouldnt be able to handle Berto's punching power.

Of course Berto's power isn't something you can walk through, Quintana has enough experience to realize this and develop a gameplan to neutralize it as much as possible. I think he underestimated Williams in the second fight, like alot of boxing fans, Quintana thought it would be a re-run of the first fight. Too bad for him Williams came out on the bell with a fresh strategy and caught him.

I think if team Berto puts enough effort in the preparations of the fight, study Quintana, and come up with a solid strategy to put Berto's power in effect they could pull it off. If not I think Quintana would outbox Berto to a descision victory. Don't forget that Williams not only surprised us with a round 1 KO, he also surprised Quintana. Only if Quintana is a total ****** he wouldn't learn from this experience.

Notice I'm not picking a winner here, I didn't even vote the poll yet, because I'm not really sure who would win this. It's a cat and mouse matchup, where the cat wants to trap the mouse and enforce his power, and the mouse wants to evade every attack and set some traps to neutralize the cat until he's safe. (safe = the final bell :yep)

It would certainly be a good step up in competition for Berto, he has a decent chance to win and it could be a good experience for him by not putting himself in too much risk, but still having to put 100% effort in the fight. I hope they make the fight.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, I do think Berto is easier to hit than Williams. It's hard to punch above your own length, tires you out faster. Williams is taller and has insane reach plus he has decent movement. His mistake in the first fight was that his punches didn't really give Quintana a reason to stay out of reach.
Of course Berto has good reflexes and speed, but he's just more reachable. Berto would probably dominate the early rounds, but if Quintana survives, I think he would figure out Berto and hit him quite often.

I certainly wouldn't put any vCash on this one.

Berto doesn't have the physical advantage that Williams have over Quintana . . . so I'll say Quintana still starch Berto at this point.
