Now that Berto is WBC champ we can no longer give him time to develop because fighters are gonna be gunning for his belt. My question is how does he fair against the divisions best? I personally believe Cotto and Margarito beat him easily. Paul Williams is to big for Berto's type of style and i have Bero beating Kermit Cintron and MAYBE Collazo. Anyway what do you guys think?
Right now? He loses to all three... Not a knock on him, but those are the CLASS of the division. Vs the others you mentioned like Cintron and Collazo, Berto stops them both...
i think he stops cintron too, but collazo seems pretty tough and can take a good punch. plus he has a good defense so berto wont find him easy to hit like rodriguez or estrada.
He loses to all three any time in his career ... those guys are better than him in more ways than one. Physically he doesn't compare to Williams or Margarito ... boxing wise he doesn't compare well to Cotto ... and Stylistically those guys are better than him. He doesn't have the movement or savvy as Cotto ... He doesn't have the length and the workrate of Margarito or Williams ... Those guys hit hard and won't be phased by him winning a vacated belt ... he has yet to face a former champion on his way up ... he's fought no serious gatekeepers or stepping stones ... he's being built up to lose ...
I cant stand Wayne new **** either, but I like Carter I. Any way I think he can beat any of the fighters 6-10 in the division including Zab, Quinttana, and Overrated Clottey. But he will have his hand full against Cotto, Margo, and maybe Williams. But as time develops he will get better
Collazo looked terrible against Mosely's speed. He was beaten to the punch all night. Berto is faster than Shane at their points in their respective careers. Also, Collazo is horrible at setting a pace or dictating the style of a fight (inside vs Hatton, at a distance vs Mosely, brawled on the inside vs Rivera, etc.)...meaning he is going to fight Berto's fight if we are going by the trend of how he fights. I see Berto up big before he stops him.
he also broke his hand in the fight, so couldnt throw his straight left. i think berto beats him - hes faster, stronger, more powerful, but i dont think hed stop him. at least we both agree on a winner. no point in arguing with eachother about a stoppage or wide ud
