They claim Kirkland will be able to make 154 just fine.

Anyway, 50/50 fight to me. Kirkland is a bad style matchup for Berto, but I could also see Berto just hugging Kirkland to death.

Im a fan of Kirklands, but I dont think as highly of Kirklands chances and ability as others do (which means little to me, i like him for everything he stands for in that ring, aggression, ferociousness, heart, just a monster),

I actually think this would be a competetive matchup.

Id be rooting for Kirkland to tear him to pieces, Kirkland is the one i want to see take over 154, (if its not going to be Miguel Cotto) and id love for him to add Bertos scalp to his resume, be the first to take that 0. Wether he can do it or not im not sure. Kirkland is a ferocious beast and i love it, but hes got wide gaps in what he does, im not sold on his chin, and im not so sure if he could stand up to a world class fighter (not that im saying Berto is one), part of me think hes a KO waiting to happen, especially if he decides to move to 160. I see him having no success above 154 against champion level fighters.

Against Berto he could have a lot of success, as Berto is pretty basic outside of his physical gifts, I could see James beating him down in route to a 8th round stoppage or so, but I could also see Bertos speed and pop giving James some problems, if James can take that Ill go with Kirkland by TKO.

Id like to see Kirkland take one touch up fight so he can regain some form and then put him in there with someone like Gomez, and then after that maybe one more step up fight and after that its ready for the big dogs.

Hopefully the best is yet to come for Kirkland :good

Bad fight for Berto. At 154 I have no idea what kind of damage he could do but against Kirkland it wouldn't matter. Also Berto got huge balls: calling out Mosley after his fight against Mora was very warrior-like. This guy will not fight a real threat anytime soon. Since he fights only once in a while he will not improve much also

Flat footed fighters do very well against fighters recently released from prison.

Berto would be his warm up fight...lol. Seriously though, Kirkland would mess Berto up sideways.

Collazo has already beaten Berto. Kirkland would knock Berto out. HBO would not be able to protect Berto this time.

Seriously. I don't get how people think so highly of Berto.

At this point, Berto beats Kirkland. Kirkland is ring rusty now, so I would expect Berto to win. He may have been affected by the jail time. We never know.
