Big moves going on in the boxing world. As much as i've disliked Haymon in the past it is refreshing that he has the vision to try to make something significant happen.

Boxing on network tv and regular cable is a godsend.

    Showtime got screwed big time.

it works better this way for all parties involved. Showtime will get money on the PPVs. NBC can't make those come off. This cuts the fat for showtime fights that dont' do as well and they get to save money on their sports budget except for the fights that will DEFINITELY sell.

Showtime is losing all their good fights. It's a disaster. They still have a strong budget though, they just need to restructure.

Showtime had the option to keep these fighters I'm sure. If they didn't want to put the $$$ up that's their problem. I would rather only have the PPV fights anyways, you probably don't make that much money as a network from non ppv fights. It's not like it helps you add subscribers.

You would rather Showtime boxing cease to exist? :rofl

btw NBC and Spike are rivals to Showtime. This makes Espinoza look like a tool, at the very least they lost half year worth of fights with more to come.

I hope they keep doing shows and just start working with other people. The more TV dates the better.

I just don't care about the networks. What do the networks have to do with the athletes? I just want to see the fighters fight, I could care less what network gets it.

But aside from that I'm pretty sure showtime will continue to get PPV fights. Showtime just gets to save money this way.

This is what pro wrestling calls a classic "heel-to-face" turn.

Up there with Austin not tapping in the Sharpshooter, honestly.
