I just read that on the Mosley-Mayorga undercard, reigning, defending, and undefeated WBC Welterweight Champion Andre Berto will be making his first title defense against former champion Steve Forbes on September 27th. So the thread here is simple: who wins, how does he win, and how does the fight play out.

That shaping up to be a good value card.

Mosley-Mayorga..say what you want about it and where the respective fighters are at right now but both are rarely in a bad fight.

Berto taking a good but not overly dangerous step up in his first defense. Again two guys who are generally pretty good viewing.

Berto by a pretty wide UD. Steve Forbes' lack of power really hurts him in this one. Berto will not be impacted by Forbes' punches and he will be constantly landing the harder shots in this one. Forbes doesn't even belong at 147, he only took this match because it's another fight in the spotlight.

Does it bother anyone else that Berto is being called the WBC welterweight champion of the world now?

Does Roger Mayweather have 'lil Floyd's permission to train Steve Forbes? If so, I could see a narrow points victory for Forbes, but if Roger is not his trainer I can see a late round stoppage for Berto.

yeah it is kinda of weird to see that. its not making the WBC look all that good right now actually.

other than that, i disagree with you about the wide decision. Forbes offense was impressive against Oscar so i think hes gonna get some rounds in. its gonna be competitive.

you may be right though by looking at all of that vcash you have. god damn!!:lol:

I meant pretty wide as in 9-3, so I do think it'll be a competitive fight.. just not one Forbes will come very close to winning.

Forbes vs. Berto? He is defiantly ready for Margarito or Cotto.

I dont think Cotto will be the same again, unless he takes a long break. But Margo will probably beat Berto now
