Berto could be, but we still need to see him do it against a big name. he stands infront of his opponent too much, he needs to move abit more and create angles. he has got it all and i would like to see him fight someone like mosley as they both have similar qualities.

I like berto but I think he's not going to live up to his potential and hype. Unlike Paul Williams I see a more calm, composed and confident fighter. Now...Berto has all the tools, skills and talent to steer me towards your view of him, but given his demeanor and how he views himself I can't be confident in him living up to being the "Next great thing" at WW.

I think a good test would be Zab at this stage. I'd have to favor Zab however.....I think the Clottley fight showed that Zab was fighting a BIG Welter weight and a very technically soild one at that. Berto is Zab's size and they are just as fast as one anther....both are very talented and both are explosive.....experience favors Zab where youth favors young Berto. I'd still lean towads Zab at this stage. Shane, Cotto and Marg all beat Berto in convinging fashoion

Mosley is a harder puncher than Berto, but he couldn't drop or stop Estrada. But Berto did, it been alot of fights like that for example a current one Reid gave Calzaghe a good fight. While Lacy whoop Ried's ass. But Calzaghe beat the **** out of Lacy. Also Castillo gave Floyd a good fight. But Castillo had good fights with Coralles, who Floyd destroyed.

Well how soon are we talking about? If we are talking in the next 6 months to a year, I say Williams, Margarito, and Clottey have a better shot at being the top dog. Berto has not yet proven himself and who has he faced? His resume is not impressive at all. If you give him 3 or 4 fights against top-level opposition and wins them all, then yes, we can say he can be WW king soon. But beating the likes of Micky Rodriguez and possibly Steve Forbes?!?! I doubt this will be reality anytime soon.

:huh :blood :-( :huh :blood :-( !! LOL,Not even close. He hasnt even fought a top 10 welter yet. I love this kids skills but he would lose to PWilliams,Margo would crush him,Cotto would break him down easily,SSM's experience would be too much,Clottey would be like 50/50 with an edge for Joshua,Cintron would be like 50/50 with an edge for Berto.nope not even close. He needs to fight Judah or better yet Collazo and then start from there.

He's done being "ELITE"...Yes, I agree. But he is still a very dangerous and a threat to the guys who are trying to break in to the elite levels of the division. He won't beat guys like Cotto, DLH, Shane, Marg, Paul W.....but Berto? Yea....he can beat Berto.....he could also loose, but he definitly will give Berto a test that is for sure. I think it's a good match up and a good measuring stick to see if Berto is hype or legit.

Berto's not quite ready for the top tier.

    Margarito
    Cotto
    Paul Williams
    Shane Mosley

But he can and should step up and take on some of the guys just under the top tier

    Joshua Clottey
    Carlos Quintana
    Kermit Cintron
    Zab Judah

Clottley is just too big and overall SOILD in skill. I don't think that is a good look for Berto right now....but Zab, Kermit, Carlos..YES!
