Where is BERTO? Man I think he is done. Those body shots from Karass were BRUTAL. That's a fight that takes years off your life
Another thread is asking who you think uses PED's. I think Berto is one of them. The reason he may be fading is because they have monitored his usage. Berto just looks juiced. As much as any fighter I can think of.
That Ortiz and Karass fight were life altering. I enjoy watching him though, hope he comes back. And ya it could be that aswell jack, if he was always juicing, and now can't get away with it, maybe he just feels he's not good enough so is taking a break to sort it out.
I really shouldn't make that accusation without any proof but he just seems juiced and that might be an explanation for his inactivity.
Well he did test positive for nandrolone before the Ortiz rematch and caused it to fall apart. I don't think it's far fetched to think he's done it before.
It was a strange thing however. They did testing and he passed them but then he injured his bicep and the fight was rescheduled. He got busted after the rescheduling and for trace amounts. Either it was contamination or they ****ed up his cycle. Berto has more claim for contamination than any other fighter.
Berto has been through consecutive tough fights. With the way the fights go and how he has regressed in all of them, Berto can't have anything left in the tank, really. The Victor Ortiz war was brutal. No FOTY contender is good for the long term of a career. He got a little break with the cut shortened Jan Zaveck bout, which still wasn't an easy 5 rounds. His face was mutilated in the Guerrero fight. A mugging battle where Berto took a ton of damage. The most recent defeat to Soto Karass was similar. He got beat up by a tough fighter who you don't want to let impose himself on you and then a big knockdown to end it in the twelfth. His last 41 rounds have been very grueling. Entertaining for us, but horrible for Berto.
They showed him on the All Access show training with Angulo. His shoulder is finally healed and as mentioned he's coming back fall/summer. He's a gate keeper, but he's also an exciting gate keeper.
