I'm going to throw out a poll with this one. This is another nugget from Dan Rafael today. HBO's first choice is Zab Judah. Juan Urango is being discussed by Dibella and Warriors to move up for the fight. The other name mentioned is Quintana. Personally, I have had enough of Zab. He does not warrant a title shot imo. I would be very interested in the Urango fight. He's such a big junior welter and i can see him catching Berto. Very good style matchup. Who would you want to see?
Should be Collazo, but Quintana would be nice too. Zab in a very undeserving challenger and Urango, a beast at 140, really belongs to 140. But Quintana is a legit welter.
Cq is the best. zab gets beat down and quits like in the clotty fight. Urango is too slow but if berto decides to trade it could be lights out i think Lou will scratch that offer. so i see cq and cq is really a 50/50 fight
Zab is the bigger name and I believe they are both from NY - so it makes sense - if the fight is in NY. Urango is doing well at 140lbs - no need to move up. Quintana doesn't really make for a good fight - he's not going to fight like Collazo - the person that should actually be getting a rematch against Berto. I had Collazo winning that fight anyway - so I wouldn't mind seeing it again. But if not Collazo - then it should be Zab. These two have been talking **** about each other for almost 2 years now. They should just go ahead and get it on - to settle the score.
I could see Zab catching this kid with the proverbial "lucky" punch and forcing his way back into the big picture.
Berto is from Florida, not NY. And they tried to get Collazo for this date, but HBO wasn't interested.
i dont care.... regardless of who they pick the venue is hard rock in fl ... so no matter who it is me (& all the other south floridians) win
All 3 would be very good opponents I'd say Zab, and Quintana are on the same level as Collazo, who I felt beat Berto last time around, and well Urango, with his style and attributes this one could make for A war But Zab and Berto would be a shootout, and though Zab hasn't won a big fight in a long time, he's not the guy you wanna have a toe 2 toe shootout with, especially if your durability has question marks over it and Quintana whooped both Williams and Julio, his boxing skills are no joke I'd love to see any of these 3 fights, all pose different threats that could answer different questions about Berto
i think berto whoops both quintana and judah, but has a harder time with quintana. urango's not coming up from 140.
