Idk if the The brain injury really effected him.

But the guy is nowhere near the same fighter.

The fighter I watched tonight looked like a shell of himself.

This. He wasted his prime not fighting.

Legs are gone, can't box for a full round.

In his prime he was an outside fighter who moved a lot. Now he is stationary for at least a minute out of the round.

It’s just age man. His style depends on him being fleet footed. He doesn’t have the legs or the hand speed and reflexes anymore.

Exactly reflexes are shot! He's probably been boxing since he was five years old. Dirrell is an old 34

I'll say this about Dirrell, he really got the jab going in round 4-6. I thought it was gonna be a rough night for him after the first few rounds, but Dirrell definitely fought back into the fight.

However what I don't understand is why he completely abandoned what worked in rounds 4-6 in Round 7. He started getting into a toe-to-toe war in Round 7 and by Round 8 was bobbing and weaving.

I just don't get it. The jab was piston-like in Rounds 4-6, he even managed to time his man with the straight left towards the end of the 6th. Dirrell was looking good going into the 7th, he should have kept working behind that jab.

I went into the fight not expecting much from Dirrell, then he surprised me by how he fought rounds 4-6, but then in the 7th he just lost his concentration and forgot about the jab. When Dirrell works behind that jab, doubles and triples it, he's very hard to beat. Too bad he couldn't have built on what he got done in round 6, he really was starting to control the action.

dirrel like a lot of sportsmen lacks mental toughness between the ears wqhen the going gets tough and they do not rise to the occasion but underperform

    take asafah powell in 100m
he can run under 10 seconds with his eyes shut in a minor race

put him in an olympic final and he struggles to break 11 seconds

happens in all sports and events to women and men and dirrell is one of these.

He's 34 years old FFS. It's called getting older.
