Yeah, I was thinking about that.

Goes to show you how far past it Roy really is, because if Hanshaw fought a prime Jones, he wouldn't see the middle rounds.

Roy really needs to rethink everything after if he seen this fight that kid is FASTER and taller and younger than roy

This is what Roy would have done to Hanshaw ten years ago, minus the shaky start.

I said this when Roy fought Hanshaw, if he is struggling to beat a guy like him then he should really think about his future in the sport.
The tito fight proves nothing and Im afraid if he fights Calzaghe its going to be another real black spot on his legacy.

yes but now roy cant hang man i told EVERYONE that would listen after i seen cotto beat Sosa i said " floyd dont want to **** with cotto" and trust me after this fight roy, tarver, glen they dont want to **** with that kid man he is TOO fast with foot and hand too fast. Fighters get fearful of two things getting knocked out and or taking a loss older fighters want to risk it less and less hence floyd mayweather everyone isn't cut like bernard hopkins say what you wish but he is fearless

Well, it's not like Roy is just starting his career. What does he have to be afraid of, he has a few fights left, and if one or two are "cash out" fights, so be it. He has earned the right to do that.

Besides, Dirrell looked like **** against Stevens last time out, now he looked good..........................STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Until Dirrell beats "Prince" Badi Ajamu like Roy, I won't be convinced:nut

Roy would wipe his ass with Dirrell, even at this stage of their respective careers.

ali fights tooth and nail with frazier and loses. foreman then takes frazier out like he was nothing. Ali then beats foreman. now while i agree that it makes roy's semi-tough win over hanshaw look a little scary for roy fans. you can't really do this with fights it doesn't work that way.

You're not wrong at all, but I see this as less of an A beats B beats C situation as comparing a maturation process with a physical decline. Direll is on his way to becoming the speed and reflex phenomenon Roy used to be. There's just no denying that he did something tonight to Hanshaw that Roy is no longer capable of.

And what did Hanshaw do tonight that Stevens can do better? Cut off the ring? Apply better pressure? What we learned tonight is that in the past 12 months, Direll has come into his adult physicality and professional style. He still has rough edges, but he's not losing anytime soon to the prospects and journeymen at light heavyweight.

Hmmm.....this is one that I suppose I have to think about a little more.

Maybe we all have our blind spots. At some level, I will never forgive Dirrell for the Stevens fight. I watched the whole damn thing to the bitter end, and still hold a grudge over him for that miserable showing.

But it's also something about what I've seen from him, all the way from the Olympics until now. I will admit that he has never looked even close to as good as he did tonight in his other fights. But it just seems like he has the physical tools, but is not going to end up being a really good fighter. He just isn't. One of the reasons for why I've always though this is because Dirrell seems way too easy to hit. His D needs serious work.

I'll guess I'll admit now that RJJ would probably cop a beating from the youngin.' But I still say that Dirrell will get his world rocked if he steps up to the top level at 168.
