dirrell wide UD. Im in the middle of rewatching the fight, re scoring and coming up with punches thrown and landed stats, and Im up to round 9. But one thing is for sure after watching it again(and ive still got the last 3 which if I remember are Dirrells best to watch), Dirrell with different tactics wipes the floor with Froch in a rematch, who's only chance is landing a flash KO imo
I had the first fight 6-6 (with Froch getting the win if the deduction was counted). However, one would think that Dirrell cannot make worse use of his skills and can only do better if they meet again - so I would think Dirrell would win.
Dirrell will have learnt from his mistakes if they fight again.. His game plan was all wrong in the first fight..
I agree with the two posters above me. Furthermore I don't think I have witnessed one so poor at the grab and holding game. He should practise it more. It was like his corner had given him this advice, whenever Froch closed the distance, but they somehow didn't train for it.
Dirrell will stop Froch if they ever fought again ... in that fight I seen exactly what Dirrell is made of ... all of the so "called" running, was bull**** on the part of guys who don't know boxing. I can tell you this, I see Dirrell hurt Froch a few times in that fight and I'm sure the second time around Dirrell will pace himself and look to get the stoppage later on in the fight. The body shots effected Froch, the movement effected Froch, the speed effected Froch. I don't think Froch is on the level of Dirrell ... Froch has good endurance and stamina but when it comes to skill ... he's the weakest link - "goodbye" Dirrell TKO 10 Froch
sure. but dirrell showed a complete lack of heart against froch, and heart is something that cannot be taught. I doubt he lasts the full 12 in a rematch with froch.
Fock? You could have done better than that. "Carl Fraud" or "Carl the Clumsy" are better if you want to dish out some hate. Seriously though, I think both fighters would improve in a rematch. I think Froch gave a lot of rounds away that he didn't need to; I scored 2-5 all for Dirrell, mainly because Froch was trying to stand in the centre of the ring and box, where he was just getting consistently beaten to the punch. When Froch charged at Dirrell and attacked him in the corners he was most effective. I think McCracken's (usually sound) advice was wrong in this instance: Froch should have just tried to apply pressure from the opening bell. On the other hand, Dirrell would come to fight more and be willing to take a few more risks to trade. I think he still has all the attributes to take the fight: superior speed, much better defence and decent stopping power. I see Froch probably walking into something around the middle/late rounds and Dirrell stopping him.
