Seriously this is ridiculous what has he done to earn this position in the eliminator and since when does fighting someone not in the top 10 qualify you for # 3 oh wait in boxing it does!

Anyway I will watch the fight to see if he still shows glimpse of his former self because at one time with his talent he could of ruled the division too bad he wasn't there mentally. I want to see him fight guys in the top 10 and maybe Degale. He still seems very delusional so this should be fun!

There is a difference between being delusionnal and being confident in your abilities. With Ward out, he will rule the super middleweight division in not so long.

I don't think he'll rule ****. He has elite level skills but a glass brain. He just isn't disciplined enough to be linear SM champion. He might nick a belt but he'll soon go into meltdown mode. I still don't know what happened to him...

I have to agree with you on the rating

I know the sanctioning body ranks are usually bad but in this case they aren't even following their own rules

If I remember correctly I think Boystov was number 1 at the WBO despite no wins in the WBO top 10

What exactly do you expect people to do to be ranked #3 in these sanctioning bodies?

Hes fighting a guy coming off a decent win.
If he beats him, then why not rank him #3?

Theres been FAR worse fighters, with FAR worse records get title shots, let alone be considered 3rd in line.

I pity anyone who ever wasted their time, efforts, or hopes on anything to do with Andre Dirrell.

Andre D would box the hell out of ward.
He is easily the most talented 168 fighter out there.

His meltdown vs AA was terrible but that actually be good for him. I've never seen him close to losing a match. He made froch look like a bum for most of the match and would stop him easily now.

He fixed his stamina issues which was his only true flaw. Sick sick talent he is. Time will tell if he has the mentality now. I think he does

And how do you know he's fixed his stamina issues? I don't see why this isn't just gonna be another episode of Andre Dirrel, the man who had the talent to do everything but lacked the mentality.

If he is the Andre Dirrel of old yes he could rule the division if he fixed his mental issues!

Because I've seen him training and seen his last matches. He isn't as tense as he used to be which is why he had stamina issues.

You'll see over the next couple years

Hmmm... he's fighting Derek Edwards. Andre should box the snot outta him by 'keeping distance' (aka 'bringing his track shoes') but Edwards is one of those guys quite capable of springing the upset if Dirrel gets careless.

Ask Badou Jack or (nearly) Matt Korobov.

On paper it's a kinda mismatch, but there's a chance it could turn in to something of a reality check for Dirrel if Edwards can land something big.
