I think Dirrell beat Froch. But he is not kicking anyones ass is he? He fought like a ***** v Froch, and Carl has nothing but disdain for him and his style.

Abraham put heat on Dirrell and got to him. Look how exposed Abrahams was by Froch and Ward.

He is very talented but has a weakness about him

I hope Dirrel remains retired. Sick of his "slick" style.

Keep in mind that before the Super Six and the Froch fight, Andre Dirrell had only had 18 pro bouts. To put that in perspective, Amir Khan's 19th fight was the Prescott debacle.

Dirrell had also never been 12 rounds before, and the only time he had been past 8 was the Stevens fight.

And still he managed to win (IMO) in a hostile environment, against an undefeated world champion in a dirty fight going a distance he had never been. After being penalized, he responded by chicken dancing Froch, and (again, my opinion) was the better fighter in Rds. 11 and 12.

Guys without heart don't do that.

And against the then juggernaut and Super Six favorite Abraham, people expected a track meet, but the kid stood right in front of Abraham for the first 9 rounds of the fight and put on a clinic. Again, heartless fighters don't do that.

Trying to judge a young fighter's 'heart' on his reaction to a blatantly illegal blow seems silly, IMO. This wasn't an Ortiz situation.

I've not read the op so my response is just to the title.

I do not have a clue why andre's mindset is being questioned. He fought an unbelieveably close fight with froch, an undefeated belt holder in his home town and he even turned up the pace late on to demonstrate a difference in skill level. Unfortunately for him, imo, he turned it up to late. But still for a green fighter going to froch's backyard I wouldn't question his heart, maybe his gameplan but not his heart.

His next fight he learned from his mistakes with froch and schooled abraham from star to end in a brilliant display, off balance he slipped and then got coldcocked. Again no reason to question his heart there.

Under medical advisement he took a long break from the sport. Still no reason to to question his heart.

After his comeback i'm sure he'll challenge at the top again.

It would be hard for any fighter to go to another fighter in his first 12 round fight, to go to another fighters hometown, school that fighter, then be told you lost.

Then be schooling the so-called favorite of the tournament, then be subject to an illegal blow that threatens your boxing career.

Despite all of these early unfortunate events, I believe Andre Dirrell will win a title within the next year.

IMO dirrell beats bute, kessler and beats froch "again" in a rematch (i had dirrell winning that fight). Ward maybe the only one that can stop dirrell and visversa.

Scholled Abraham from start to end ?
I remember Abraham winning 3 rounds going to the 11th and knocking him down in the 10th (the hometown ref didn`t see). And of course, Dirrel started to run and "slip" when he was in trouble latter in the fight.

Anyone who watches MMA has seen people take blows like that repeatedly before and they're fighting again in three months. I'm sure it hurt but Dirrell's career wasn't threatened by it and it wasn't THAT hard of a punch relative to pro boxing. So, to sum it up, your hero is a Glass Jawed AND Glass Hearted Hype Job and he'll never live up to his physical gifts because of it!:rofl:patsch
