He is done as an actor too. The fakery in the AA fight was some of the worst acting i had ever seen until last night when the same fukker goes and trys the same tactic but does an even worse job. Was a very skilfull Boxer Andre Dirrell but a glass heart and some poor acting skills does alot of damage to a career.
Too much attention on the referee here, too little attention for Dirrel's behavior. While it was certainly a bad call by the referree, Dirrel acted disgracefully. And you know what - if this happened somewhere in the middle of the round, 10 seconds would be enough for Direll to recover.. to say nothing of 5 minutes. He wasn't hurt THAT badly to play all that comedy and then come up to Uzcategui corner and say "I forgive you".. you're a fighter, you have to defend yourself at all times, not use that as an excuse for your poor defense and lack of decency. Considering his uncle's assault, they ought to strip him of the already unmerited title. I must admit that it has been long since I was that pissed off with someone's behavior inside the ring.
Live I saw Dirrell get hit by an unitentional shot after the bell, when he might have been relaxed and not able to take it, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he wasn't ok. But watching it over a few times I now have to say in addition to being pissed off at the ref I agree with you guys that Andre was milking it and happy to get a way out. He initially nodded his head and seemed to start getting up when he was asked if he was ok, and only rolled back down when the doctor came over.
andre should receive an oscar. between this one and the one against abraham, they are possibly the two finest acting performances captured on film. bowes acting against golota was hard to beat, but this far outdid those.
If Dirrel could just keep his damn hands up. When he was hit after the bell after the first or second round, I was screamjng at the tv "protect yourself at all times" and then later on be gets drilled after the bell with his hands down again
he had six minutes, counting the minute between rounds. that he quit instantly showed he wanted out. he saw a way to a cheap win and took it.
Dirrell has a Glass Jaw and a Glass Heart. He now belongs alongside Victor Ortiz as one of the most cowardly fighters out there. The guy is a disgrace to boxing.
golota knocked down ruiz at the bell in their fight. the ref didn't count it, but didn't deduct a point either, that i recall. this ref needed pom pons.
