Dirrell was definitely on his way to getting knocked out. He only knows how to fight with one style and his footwork was off.

That guy was keeping him at the end of his punches all night. That's why when people talk about guys having great defense, of course they have great defense when they are the rangier fighter.

Put them in with a guy that's taller and rangier than them, and then see how good their defense is. Dirrell's defense wasn't as good as we thought, and he didn't adapt.

He should have been on the inside attacking this guy. He was open for uppercuts, but Dirrell fought with his usual negative style and honestly was on his way to getting KOed.

Badly hurt numerous times by Uzcategui

Hurt and dropped by Blake Caperello

Badly hurt and dropped x2 by DeGale and given a 90 second break to recover into between rounds and then another extended break after being dropped the second time

Badly hurt by Derek Edwards in the 12th round

Dropped by Abraham - that corrupt snake Lawrence Cole didn't count it. Eagle Eye Cole somehow managed to spot their feet getting slightly tangled, the same Eagle Eye Cole who ever so conveniently managed to miss 99% of Salido's low blows against Loma even though many of them were so blatant Ray Charles could've spotted them from a mile away on a dark lit night

Dropped by Anthony Hanshaw - again the ref chose not to count it

Dropped hard by Mexican road sweeper Alfonso Rocha

Spent the entire duration of his fight against Curtis Stevens backpedaling around the ring in mortal fear of getting clipped by the wind of a punch like he was being pursued by a prime Mike Tyson. Andre was positively petrified of Stevens' power.

The first fighter in decades to invent a new defensive move - when the opponent finally manages to track you down and get themselves into punching range, the strategic slip to the canvas to avoid punches

The boxing gods blessed him with speed, athleticism and he has nice skills but he has no chin none and he lacks the necessary intestinal fortitude to match his physical gifts.

Let's not even go into his pair of DQ loses where he arguably turned thespian to find away out

Put a fork in that man's ass he's done.

After the Abraham fight I thought Andre would try his hand at acting. Maybe land a role on one of the day time soap operas. That venue appears to be beckoning him now. Maybe he could land a role on one in which he plays a guy that steps out into traffic and then feigns being hit by a car and injured so he can sue?

I agree in that I dont think the punch after the bell from Uzcategui was intentional. I felt a punch was being thrown when the bell rang and doubt anyone would have thought much if it hadnt had the impact that it had.
The punch after the fight that Uzcategui was hit with was disgusting and you would think that person on Dirrells team would know better. Consider how badly Andre has fared when hit with punches!

I remember right before the SMW tournament started, I thought him, Ward and Kessler were the clear favorites. I also thought he beat Froch by a couple points in Carl's backyard.

That Abraham fight was the turning point in what was once a very promising career. I'm pretty sure he was suffering from neurological issues afterwards and wasn't cleared to fight for some time. It's a shame because the guy seemed like a very well rounded fighter back in 2008/2009.

That was a destructive post @Serge, I agree.

Indeed a well-timed slip or two can actually be a remarkably effective move - surprised more boxers don't use it.

That sucker punch was some suge knight type ****.

It's a shame dirrell is a shadow of what he once was. It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out with the lawsuit. The paper title and Anthony's fight in September

Dirrell hot hit with a solid punch after the bell. He wasn't faking when he went down. He was on his way to getting back up though, when the ref was talking to him. He decided to take the easy way out.

How many low blows right in front of him did Kenny Chevalier allow Barthelemy to get away with????? FAR TOO MANY!! & not one warning. very biased officiating Relich was ROBBED!!! Both Barthelemy & Dirrell rea;;y lost but blatantly biased officiating gave them both the "wins"
Kudos to Harvey Dock the one good unbiased official present
