Who should he fight next? ...

Is he ready for a title shot? ... if not when?

I was surprised to see that he was ranked #6 by the WBC ... so if he keeps it up ... he might be in line to fight Jermain Taylor (if Taylor should face and beat Carl Froch) ...

Jeff Lacy seems to be a good stepping stone for guys at SMW now. I don't think Dirrell is ready for the top dogs yet even though he's ranked as being one. Kind of surprising actually. I think he should wait until 2010 just to be safe.

Pascal or Berrio. I've been tooting Dirrell's horn for a while now but I think his #10 ranking is still a little pre-mature. The kid's got talent, but still needs to learn how to focus and fight a complete fight for 12 rds.

Co-signed. He should be able to put Berrio out in 3 or 4 rounds, but facing him would be about as good of preparation as he could get for facing the top dogs, since he punches as hard as anyone but doesn't have enough handspeed to catch up with his defense consistently.

Dirrell-Andrade would be the most boring fight ever. It would look like Dirrell-Stevens. He'd just spend the entire fight running around the ring in circles and occasionally potshotting to win every round.

Agreed about Berrio altough I think it would take longer to take him out.And you mean IF he can run circles and potshot, chances are Andrade catches up to him.

If you saw Dirrell-Stevens, you'd already know what I mean. Granted, that was only 10 rounds, but he looked completely fresh after running a track meet for 30 minutes. Andrade is just a taller version of Stevens (although I suspect Stevens would still have the reach advantage) with a better chin.

How long is it before he's ready for a title shot or a top 10 opponent?

I think HBO needs to jump on this guy and get him ready for some exposure ...

He has speed and he has power ... my concern would be his defensive flaws, because as of now he's just overwhelming his opponents and getting hit with some unneccessary shots ... he's depending more on his fast twitch reflexes rather than he movement and using angles.

This guy has an amazing jab w/ both hands and good power in his left ... I think 09' ... he should be ready for a title shot.
