Dirrell is a special talent, just depends whether he can get mentally right.

Adam Booth said when he sparred Groves he saw an unbelievable fighter, one that is different to the Dirrell he sees in the ring.

I'm convinced Andre doesn't have the mindset/mentality to be a boxer. I suspected this when he ran from Curtis Stevens and almost everything since has reinforced this. He's an amazing talent but his lapses in concentration, and wavering valor will always keep him short. And if history has shown us anything a million times, its that a trainer can't give a fighter a new brain (or heart).

And just for the record I was a believer in Dirrell from before he was a pro. I had the priveledge of watching him fight as a young amatuer in the Michigan Golden Gloves before anyone had heard of him. I wanted the kid to succeed so badly and I thought he would be in the position Ward is in now. But Ward has proven that toughness, persistence, dedication to craft, and a keen, eager fighting brain goes further than raw talent.

Direll is a huge waste of talent at this point. He needs to get busy fighting some contenders and getting himself sharp before he ever thinks of challenging Ward. He has the physical tools to give Ward problems but I think Ward's total package will be too much for Direll to overcome.
