Dirrell is the epitome of what is wrong with fighters these days. There was a thread the other day about 'black fighters who don't want to fight' and whilst that may be a bit too race related, there is a point in there. Instead of the tough attitude of wanting to prove that you're a ****ing hard ****, you get young fighters who want to earn big money and take no punches. That mentality of being a warrior has almost completely gone and now you only see people like Kirkland who carry it on, whereas the rest, including guys like Dirrell, have absolutely no fighting desire.

Dirrell is a fairly skilled fighter. Enormously overrated technically by people who know nothing about the sport but he does have great physical attributes. The fact is, he could be a much more entertaining and marketable fighter and yet he chooses to fight in such a horrible way that he disgraces the sport. He isn't an asset to the sport we love. He detracts from it.

As for his future career, who cares? He's been blackballed by HBO in the past, Showtime know he lied about his supposed brain injury and will hopefully not want to see him in big fights. Personally, I hope he doesn't ever earn a big paycheck in his life again. He simply doesn't deserve to be in a position where he is earning millions for each fight, especially when you have guys like Glen Johnson who earn far less than what they deserve.

Speaking of Glen Johnson, he is, to me, the epitome of what a fighter should be. He isn't loud, cocky, arrogant or egotistical. He isn't driven by money or by a stupid mentality. He just wants to prove that he is the best, toughest ****er out there and will fight anyone in the world to prove that. To me, he's the Ying to Andre Dirrell's Yang. One is good for the sport, the other hurts it. One wants to fight, the other doesn't. One will fight anyone, the other won't. One is driven by success, the other driven by money.

**** Dirrell. He represents the cancerous attitude that many fighters have. If he is blackballed, it will be to the benefit of this sport.

No I wouldnt bet on it. Dirrell has been similar to C Dawson that on his big test he didnt show the heart required. Those losses may well bring out a new fire in both of them, but I have a feeling that with either, that when a fight gets tough and theres a fighter willing to dig in a bit more than them, they will be out toughed

The use of true star was wrong, a better phrase would be top contender.

Imo it wasn't really too late, I had it even after 8 I think (scorecard on first post) and he stepped it up from the ninth.

Come on, it was hardly his fault that abraham quit against him.

I'm not really a fan of andre's at all. Don't like his style and don't like the fact he's gone incognito. I do appreciate how quick and accurate he is however.

    I think people forget that boxing isn't a brawl, it's a discipline.

LOL, most of you Dirrell haters actually predicted that AA would KO Dirrell when it was Dirrell who made AA look like the hyped Euro bum that he truly is.
Dirrell is young, and gained a ton of experience while whipping both AA and Froch.

If Dirrell can whip Froch in that embarrassing manner, Ward will demolish Froch with and his slow Roy Jones imitation. Bute doesn't stand a chance against Ward, but as usual, will come into the bout as the favorite, ala Hatton-Mayweather, and as usually the case with these spectator based odds, lose to the underdog, Ward.

    froch won by 2pts.

dirrell said himself he gave froch the 12th.

i cant remember exact scorecard, but if Dirrell had have won a world title "fighting" like that, it would have been a travesy for the entire sport.

like Froch said, he came to steal the title.
