The fouling didnt start until Froch decided to make it into a dirty affair. He said it after the fight. He couldnt hit Dirrell so he started fouling him. He actually admitted to starting the fouling and you claim different. You really are a piece of work Jack. So you admit that you havent seen the fight and really have no basis for your argument? The 3 championship rounds above arent bad at all. Both fighters came to win the last 3 rounds, one fighter is merely outclassed. Seriously stop being such a joke for once. It wasnt a shameful performance. Most thought it was decent. Only you are using the terms shameful. I thought Dirrell was taken out of the fight by Froch's tactics in the mid-rounds. He got frustrated and started complaining to the referee. Other then that I consider he fought a decent fight overall and an excellent 3 championship rounds, especially for a guy who's never been 12 rounds before. Please jack, stop being a coward and post a real scorecard. Or at the very least admit your bias.
Lol...you know they didn't release compubox numbers from this fight, but I mean watch the damn fight Jack, you have three rounds of it posted two pages back. You are taking this ignorant position, and trying to use these hypothetical...made up criteria for scoring a fight. You watch the fight and give me your scorecard, you tell me which rounds Froch won and why, I will be happy to do the same and count the "power shots" along the way. I'm sure you won't because then you would have to be accountable for 7 rounds you are saying Froch won...not being rude, I respect your opinion but come on man...
So you think a broken hand doesn't affect a fighter substantially? Especially their proffered hand? Come off it. He was deducted a point for holding! How the **** is that "no more holding than a normal fight"? Point deductions for holding are rare. If you were to list the last 10 point deductions for holding in world title fights, you'd have to go back a long way to find the 10th. Like I said, it was a terrible performance from Wlad. However, there are 'bad' performances, like Wlad's, 'shameful' performances, like Hopkins against Jones, and then a 'Dirrell-like' performance, which is on another level entirely.
You dont have to respect his opinion. He's a joke. He even admitted he hasnt even properly viewed the fight.
I disagree I thought he was horrible, I thought he was horrible against Hopkins as well...had he not scored the "knock downs", it would have been 22 of the worst "championship" rounds in the history of boxing. You go on and on about Dirrell, I challenge you to sit and watch those 22 rounds consecutively and then come back and tell me Pascal wasn't an embarassment.
Mayweather has hurt his hand plenty of times in his career. Not once in any of those fights did he resort to throwing single digit punches per round. :rofl Al Bernstein, Antonio Tarver and Gus Johnson all thought that a point shouldnt have been deducted from Dirrell. That Dirrell was doing no more fouling then Froch. Bernstein even said that froch deserved a point more then Dirrell. Now consider that Bernstein and Tarver are highly respected commentators, and Bernstein i feel is at times unbiased to a fault, how would you counter their points? Make it good. You are starting to bore me. Only in your opinion. Nobody elses. Something we have been over before. And your opinion like your character isnt much to consider.
I don't remember my score for it off hand, I'll rewatch it soon and calculate it, but I know I had Dirrell winning even with the point deduction. Not as comfortably as you might have had it, but still a win.
I genuinely don't want to watch the fight again. It seriously annoyed me and it's one of the few non-death/serious injury fights I won't watch over and over again. The thing is too, I know exactly what would happen if we did do that. I'd score the rounds, lets say round 5 (I don't know who won the actual round) and I'd say "Froch landed "Here, here and here"' and you'd say "Dirrell landed "Here, here and here"' but that would solve nothing. I accept that you may[ be able to find cleaner shots being landed by Dirrell but what I don't accept is that what he put in was a world title winning performance. Like I said before, for every positive which may win him a round, you also have to consider the negatives which cost him rounds too. As far as the official scoring criteria goes, you score rounds based on what good things a fighter does, such as accuracy and defense, but what about the bad things? They are as important as the good things yet they get completely ignored. I really would have to watch the fight to go into specific details but, as I said, I don't want to do that. However, I do think it's important to note that rounds aren't just "won", they are "lost" too. Dirrell may have won more rounds than Froch but the fact he lost so many, means that nobody should have an issue with him not winning the fight. His corner knew what was happening and even Dirrell himself admitted fault. He changed his style for the Abraham fight for a reason, and it wasn't because he was unfairly robbed because otherwise he wouldn't have felt the need to change. Dirrell blew it because he was afraid.
I thought he was alright against Dawson and poor against Hopkins, but he didn't embarrass boxing, I don't think. If you had to show a non-boxing fan either Pascal/Dawson or Dirrell/Froch in order to make them a fan, I think the Pascal bout would be more persuasive.
Probably because he wasn't against an opponent as bad as Valuev. If he could win rounds being inactive, he would have done. I'd say they're wrong :good I WIN!
Jack, dirrell was a 25 year old prospect who had never been on that kind of stage before...he went in and did the best he could do, I agree when Froch started fouling and trying to make the fight "ugly" he lost his composure because he had literally never been there before, especially in front of a hostile crowd. That being said, he damn sure didn't fight "afraid" in the 9-12th rounds, and he clearly hurt Froch at one point. To be honest, I haven't watched the fight since the first time, and I can't tell you the particulars but I know that I clearly thought Dirrell won, and I definitely thought he landed the cleaner/harder shots for the vast majority of the fight. Either way, it's no disrespect you are a smart dude, but you tend to get butthurt about Haye and Dirrell. LOL, but in fairness bring up Jermain Taylor and him "not winning" the Hopkins fight and you will see the butthurt, stubborn side of me too, but at least I'll admit it.
rofl How does that remotely make sense. Once again another cowardly response with no real meaning or purpose behind it. Suffice to say, you would not have made it as a boxer.
Having your "heart" in it can change your perspective, I'm from Little Rock, Arkansas we've had exactly 1 legitimate fighter from here, who happens to be the same age as me and I can relate to him. I'm a huge fan, hence I "want" to see all the good in him, and I typically do, sort of like you do with Haye. I can respect it though man, and it's no hard feelings on my end, but seriously man to man Pascal ****ing sucks and Dirrell won that fight...LOL. I have since become a fan of the Cobra and I think he's the second best SMW in the world, and I literally hope he does great and I like his style and attitude. I even like his "bird"...would like her better if she were in a sound proof booth...but hey what do you do?
