It's interesting how Direll is a disgrace, yet he was dominating a man who fouled him and made no apologies for it. Very classy. But Direll is the bad guy. this forum is unreal.
Dirrell is very fast, has good footwork, is very athletic and all-in-all is promising. As to Froch-fight, if Dirrell had fought like he did in rounds 11 and 12 in the earlier rounds it could have been a great fight and Dirrell could have won - Froch had real problems with Dirrell's speed. I have to agree a little with Jack here, before the 11 th and the 12th rounds, Dirrell didn't fight the way a challenger does in order to win the belt. Dirrell was "mousing", running around and seldomly sticking some (lightning-speed yes, but powerless) shots. Ok, this was the young man's first 12th rounder and he was in the monster-punchers homering. Still IMO the decision was fair - champ had the ring dominance most of the fight and landed most of the power-punches before the last two rounds. Not a great fight, Froch vs Kessler was way better. I'd like to see them facing each other again. I'd put my money on Dirrell because he probably would be underdog in betting odds and if they would continue where they left off, I'd favor Dirrell to win. Style makes fights and Dirrell's style is poison to Froch.
LOL at people going overboard. As soon as he puts together a couple of impressive performances, people will forget about all of this. He's still young enough to put together a great career.
Too true. ****, Froch barely scrapes by Dirrell, loses to Kessler, then beats Abraham and people here talk about him like he's the GOAT at SMW.
Andre Dirrell is a great fighter. In the last rounds of the Froch fight he was going toe to toe with Froch and landing the better shots, he had him staggered a few times. If only he had been more aggressive from the start instead of trying to avoid Froch so much he could have won it without question. As for running against Abraham, he was outboxing him thoroughly before the controversy. It was an impressive performance before that occurred. I'd rate Dirrell number 2 at SMW if he can work on his weaknesses and show a little more courage. Based on what I see from him, I think he could give Andre Ward a close fight.
hell no, he's just getting started, wait and see. he hasn't even 20 pro fights. look at Martinez, lost to margarito in his fight #17 and dirrell lost in his 18th fight, look where sergio is now
I love the way you don't mention the fact that he faked a brain injury to get out of fighting a guy he had signed on to fight a long time ago. **** him and the horse he rode in on. He should be blackballed by all tv stations. Boxing doesn't need people like Dirrell and this type of behaviour should not go unpunished.
Dirrell ran, held, fell down on canvas, complained, etc., in the fight with Froch, which Froch won and deserved to win. Dirrell faked being knocked out in his fight with Abraham, faked an injury to get the fight in his home town, with his judges and his criminal referee Cole who called a legit knock down a slip! Then Dirrell ran away from SOB Ward, ducked out of the damned fight! Fake brain injury, etc. Give him a Valium!
Oh shut the **** up you arrogant cumstain. If you notice, I had some good things to say about AD and some bad things. My post was based on the feelings and quotes that have appeared on this site and in the boxing press. Im purely playing devils advocate here and asking a few questions. You assume that it's completely my own opinion and that your's is obviously superior. Id suggest pulling you nose out of the clouds before boring the arse out of us with your self indulgent ****.
So far there hasn't been much discussion about the injury sustained by Dirrell and the fuss it caused. Some people are of the opinion AD faked the whole thing. He certainly didn't do himself any favours by forgetting the name of his own family doctor and some comments from his manager on fighting purely for money not prizes, must of had them wincing afterwards.
You're right. Froch was dirty in that fight. He wasn't able to impose his fight and was very frustrated. Dirrell was running too much for nothing though. Both were negative. That was not a great fight to watch.
