It all used to happen on the estate i grew up on (woodpecker) but yeh spread round the entire newcross deptford, obviously peckham..fights used to go on everywhere...brockley and nunhead were good places coz less police.... Glad i'm outta there...like i said i'm one of the lucky few, boxing helped me to turn it around. http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/5..._out_over_Woodpecker_estate_unsolved_murders/
I lived in New Cross for nearly three years and even though I was a regular in several of the pubs saw no trouble in all that time. My mate in Deptford has found it alright since he moved there last year. Some times - not always - you have to look for the trouble.
If i was Andre Dirrell, i would'nt see that fight as a victory........ It annoyed me slightly, when he was crying and moaning after the fight.
Its easy to say that when your'e not directly involved.....when it starts to affect your family and friends on a daily basis you have to realize its the way it is.. Did you live on a tower block? The worst parts of Newcross are pockets of the area not served by the mainn roads Of course lots of students and families live in the area these days and 9 times out of 10 dont have any trouble. 6/7/8 years ago...different story. Anyway, wayyyy off topic, and i dont really like the memoreis either
that's all very nice except for the many counter-examples proving the opposite. They've been posted all over the place on this board repeatedly. I person can be punched, grab their head, and collapse. It has happened, it can happen, and there's video evidence of it all over the place.
I would be interested to know if those fighters were released from the hospital within an hour and their doctor's said they had no concussion whatsoever.
I accept that he was knocked down. He was also dodging punches all over the place. In the 11th he looked fine and was easily winning the round. He was throwing punches and AA was not. Very likely AD would have rode it out. I give him a 90% chance.
I was under the impression that Gary Shaw made the statement. Doctors spoke directly to the media about AD's health? I only see "brain scans negative" which means essentially "Andre Dirrell will not have to retire" Could you send me the link where a neurologist speaks to the media and says "No concussion"?
He was dodging a lot but increasingly getting caught. And Abraham was throwing way more. Look at the first 30 secnds of this round and dont tell me for sure you can predict whats coming in the 12th...
