Andre Dirrell vs Andre Ward...Thoughts !!!

I expect a very close decision that can go either or neither (draw) way.
The biggest question I have is will Dirrell be able to cope with Ward's 'incidental butts'.

 

i picked Andre Ward to win the whole tourey b4 it even started. I'm gonna stick with that. Dirrell Did really impress me with King Arthur though.

wild swinging Abraham was just **** in that fight. If he had kept his punches on the inside lande and hadnt giftes Dirrell even more rounds after the kd i´m sure Abraham would have even won on points at least under fair terms
Ward will outclass and stop him
I can already smell the tons of AA ruined Dirrell threads that will show up on here after the fight. the problem is just he never was.

 

I'm pulling for Dirrell, but think Ward will be able show us something new in this fight and win.

And im putting a bet on regardless. You can get 11/4 for dirrel so i think its well worth the bet.

Impressed with dirrel but was doing my research watching Ward last night and he does look the real mccoy. Gonna be a really cautious fight for the most part, both fast counter - punchers gonna be careful not to get caught. but hopefully, HOPEFULLY, Dirrels wins and brings me in the de niros :hammertime

 

Anyone that knows the sport of boxing knows Andre Ward will win this fight. The problem with this website is there are way too many idiots who make crap posts and/or know little about the sport of boxing.

Andre Dirrell is a silky smooth boxer. Had can switch hit and is quite fast. His biggest failing is what will be his undoing in this fight and that is mental toughness. He should have won the Froch fight but in the end he fought like a scared little boy. Those tactics will not work in another fighters hometown, especially when he is the champ. Before he got disqualified against Abraham he began to look tired and I think AA would have KO'd him if the fight had gone on.

Ward is not as quick as Dirrell but there is no mentally tougher fighter in the sport today and he has fantastic boxing intelligence (ala Calzaghe). He can lose the first few rounds but adapt mid fight to an opponents style. Ward will do what he has to do to win. In the end he is the one that will make Dirrell fight the kind of fight he wants to fight. I see Ward winning a points decision quite comfortably maybe 8-4 but a late KO would not surprise me either as Dirrell does not have a good chin..

I hope the Dirrell chumps force the price down but I will still murder the -300 and say thanks for the free money..

Ward surprisingly easily.

 

I'm picking Ward by a tough fought UD...Dirrell is improving with every fight, so I expect Dirrell will try to bring the best out of Ward...Ward is simply the better overall fighter IMO..He knows how to take his opponents streghts away from them and completely dismantle them in the process.

Dirrell holds the trumph card in speed and I think it will cause Ward some problems in the fight but given Ward's ability to adapt, I see him timing Dirrell's handspeed and seperating himself to show who's the best.

Something else nobody has mentioned is how Dirrell tends to get sloppy in the championship rounds...He was taking to many unneccissary shots in the AA fight...He had a nice, comfortable lead in that fight but he was letting AA hit him when he was against the ropes...With Ward he cant do that...I'm not saying he would KO him but Ward is not gonna give those early rounds away like AA and he will get outclassed if he does that.

I expect a great, but close fight when these two meet, but I have to pick my guy Ward for this one...its kinda hard to pick because I like both.

Andre Ward will prove to be to ruff for Dirrell, I see this going to the cards or a possible late stoppage both scenarios in favor of Ward. The new Hearns vs. Leonard I anybody?

I just see Ward frustrating Dirrell too much and throwing him out of his game...doesnt seem like Dirrell responds too well to being out of his comfort zone.

 

No idea where this myth of Dirrell being faster has come from.

 

I feel like the way Dirrel uses his speed he can run rings around Ward stay out of his hea butts and clinches

Also when Dirrel sits down on his punches he can hurt you Ward so far has shown little power

Ward won 2 in a row maybe he feels invincible not hungry being at the top takes away a little motivation just ask Kessler what being the front runner feels like

But the DQ/KO suffered at the hands of Abraham may have taken the wind out of Dirrels sails he was tking Arthur to school and then bang

Has he recovered mentally

As a previous poster said he picked Ward to win it all but technically Ward can lose and still win it all and that may just happen

Dirrel is fighting to stay alive

in all likeley hood Ward is in no matter what in terms of criteria he has 2 wins and won so many rounds and thats tie breaking critereia rounds won

Maybe this night a do or die Dirrel beats an over confident Ward
