Still not totally sold on Dirrell. Needs to put things together a little better and really I would need to see him in with better opposition first. Right now I say Bute but part of me says in the near future Ill be reversing that pick.
Hard to say...how good is Dirrell's chin? We don't know. How does he do against a world class boxer? We don't know. One thing's for sure. He is fast, has good footwork but no power, so couldn't hurt Bute. He is no pressure fighter either, so he'd have to outbox Bute. Is he good enough for that? We don't know. How about we wait to see him fight a world class level boxer and take a world class punch or two from a world class fighter before we compare him with Bute. :good
Dirrell has power. Oganov just has one helluva jaw. You didnt see what Dirrell did to Handshaw? Bute's chin is pretty suspect. I can definitely see Dirrell beating him. Dirrell as of right now though is just a poor man's Dawson.
Ok, if you think Dirrell has power and that Bute's chin is suspect, there's no point in me continuing this conversation with you, with all due respect. You might want to look at Bute's fight against a certain Berrio to see why I take this stance. :good
Right now, I think Bute has to have the vote. Direll is good, but he may lack a little experience in big fights. Give Direll 2-3 good fights more and if he wins in convincing fashion - this is a fight I want to see!
I'd take Bute by stoppage in a competitive fight. If he was on his bike like that and taking rounds off against a slow, short, inaccurate predictable fighter like Oganov, he would eventually get caught hard and be like a deer in headlights against a guy at Bute's level.
Dirrell would take that choker to school. This would be a boxing match. Dirrell has ALL of the advantages. Speed, footwork, punching accuracy. Dirrell is not a guy you want to box with from the outside. His jab is too good and he is too fast for those clown ass already exposed fighters.
Hmmm...it's dangerous to hype a prospect who hasn't fought anyone good yet, even against a fighter who is a bit short of the B+ level (top world class), like Bute. Bute might not be amazing, but he is certainly a proven world class fighter...Dirrell might be good enough to beat him, sure, but there's no way of making a strong case for it yet. Also, to beat him, Dirrell would have to outbox him...and Bute wouldn't be afraid of fighting him, if he was behind on the cards...imo. How does Dirrell take punishment? We don't know. How good is his chin, cause Bute bangs harder than Dirrell for sure! We don't know. We know Bute has a very good chin, though...so...hmmm...Dirrell would have to outbox him for 12 rounds to be sure of victory, I think. Let's see him tested a bit before jumping to conclusions...
