murder? not so fast...he gets backed up hitting the heavy bag? lol yeah ok....he prob would lose right now to kessler but he is top 5-6 168...he has serious talent
how about we just watch him??? he has the skillset to beat anyone i dont care who he has fought up until now...he is a beast
I'd take Bute in a close decision..probably one close enough to earn a rematch or two. A seasoned Danny Jacobs takes em both out.
Wow...a lot of people seem to think Dirrell is amazing, just because he is fast and moves quickly in the ring and beat up some journeymen...if only it were as simple as that...! I'm not saying he couldn't beat Bute, maybe he could, maybe he will, but none of his performances so far have made me believe he is even a solid B level fighter yet, nevermind a world beater. Dirrell still looks very raw and inexperienced to me, despite his obvious skills and talents. I certainly know better than to jump the gun with prospects...so I will wait for Dirrell to prove himself a world class fighters before I pick him to beat Bute, Kessler, etc.
Fair assessment Decebal, have to agree. You never really know what a fighters made of, untill he's truly tested. There's been no end of highly touted fighters througout the history of boxing, that have come unstuck once the going got tough. In no way am i saying this is the case with Dirrell, all i'm saying is time will tell.
Dirrell has been tested. He beat Anthony Hanshaw who's a solid C level fighter, Mike Paschall, and again beat another solid C level opponent Victor Oganov. This matchup is irrelevant anyway because they won't be fighting anytime soon. But once Dirrell gets more experience I expect Dirrell to beat Bute's ass. Bute is a paper champion. He doesn't have world class skills and doesn't have good defense, just throws combos that's it. Bute is just lucky he's been fighting opponents that are terribly unskilled (Berrio, Andrade). Once Bute steps up in competition he will easily get knocked out or outboxed by guy's like Kessler, Taylor, or Dirrell.
Like i mentioned in my above post LD what i said was not in relation to Dirrell, i mentioned i was not saying anything negative towards him, which i didn't. I know who he's fought and do rate him highly. I'm actually pretty high on Andre Ward, i think both guy's will go far.
I'm with you on this...but it seems Andre loses focus, at times, during the fight. Bute would make him pay. Damn, he looked like Allen Green in the ring last night...pulling on his trunks and looking away. WTF.
Dirrell would start backing up and get caught on the ropes before Kessler even finished his ring walk. He is a talented kid and hopefully becomes a very good fighter but right now he is a prospect and just that. He beats up a walking punching bag and can't floor him and suddenly hes a world beater.
i agree with alot on need to keep on fighting and getting more experience for now i think his main downfall will be the spot light. he does have power in my eyes i think after the stevens fight he throwing with more convincing punch. to say he will knock everyone i dont know but to have fighters attention i think so.i think hes doing it right fighting rank fighters. last three was hanshaw, pascal(mike who was 17-0 i think) now the #6 rank wbo fighter. i will like for him to stay put, not rush and just keep climbing rank and doing the eliminator.
andre ward?? i wouldnt mind seeing ward, allen green, or andre dirrell all three get it on. i like ward and dirrell over green. couldnt stand that mcrary fight green had. ward and green was post to get it on what happen with that?? or hell lets throw manfredo in the mix though im not much of his fan. he could be a good test for either of the three fighters.
Yeah, that would be good. Not sure what happened with Ward and Green ? Would be good to see it happen though...
