Bika feller would probably do to Dirrell what he did to Codrington. Dirrell ain't ready for Bika either. Dirrell still needs 2,3 fights before Bika and that's the truth!
Andrade, Bika and Berrio all destroy Hanshaw too, what ur ****ing point ? I agree, Bute is no Calzaghe or Kessler yet, but you cant had many name to that list. Roy Jones jr is SHOT, ull see..., Calzaghe will win every round.
Dirrell is significantly better than Codrington and isn't very similar stylistically. Other than that Dirrell is also long and American, what are the similarities that drive you to this conclusion?
Considering Calzaghe is not a SMW anymore, Kessler and Bute have the two best resumes of the division. Taylor has also a good resume, but not at the same weight. Bika faced Calzaghe and bute and lost. Andrade lost against his 2 best opponents, Pascal, Froch, Dirrell, Ward, Inkin etc. did not face top opposition yet. Some answers to our questions are coming soon (Pascal-Froch). The others still have to prove themselves. That doesn't mean they are no good, though. We just must wait a bit before knowing their real value.
They are both inexperienced and make many big mistakes, they both fight cocky when it's not clever to do so, they both have chin problems, they are both easy to hit and they both lack good power. Both need to use their brains more and keep cool, both need to improve their defence and gain more experience. Now I ain't saying Dirrell ain't better than Codrington. He sure is better but he ain't ready for Bika, Andrade or Bute yet is all.
Good post. I'm a Dirrell fan, but I would have to agree with this assesment(although Dirrel's chin is better than Codrington's). I think Dirrell's team has brought him around nicely. Hopefully he can fight 4 or 5 times in 2009. What do you think about a Dirrell vs. Inkin fight? I believe that's a fight that Dirrell can win now.
I think both fighters are in the same stage professionally. I don't see Bute being light years ahead of Dirrell. If they fought now, I would definitely take Dirrell over Bute though, because I don't think Bute can handle the speed that Dirrell has.
Mendy, loser of Lacy/Taylor, Bika, Codrington, Green, loser of Froch/Pascal, Manfredo, Tsypko, Stieglitz. Plenty of fights available to Dirrell for him to increase his reputation and improve as a fighter. If he fought 3-4 of the above guys before going for a title shot, I think it'd be great for him. He could go for a fight with Inkin now, but hed probably have to go to Germany for it. Would he want to do that? He's still got time on his side so hopefully he won't rush into a rash decision.
i think dirrell has great potential, i saw him fight as an amateur in Ireland and he put on an amazing display, i was very impressed by his all round game. however dont think he's quite ready for the likes of Bute yet, would like to see him fight a better quality of oppostion 1st!
He wouldn't get to fight Inkin though, unless Inkin beat Balzsay (quite an IF). The earliest it could happen is summer 2009, so Dirrell would presumably fight at least another fight in the meantime. People say he's ready for Inkin, but I'm not sure why...just because Inkin is not fast, and just because he's not a puncher doesn't mean he couldn't take Dirrell out, if Dirrell made a mistake. I'd say he wasn't ready for Inkin either, yet. [yt]hEyy0MP_Tk4[/yt]
I don't think he should go for a fight with Inkin now either. The man has time on his side to build up his rep and more importantly, develop as a fighter. There is more than enough talent in the 168 division for him to challenge himself against. Kessler, Andrade, Bute, Inkin, I feel are out of bounds for him just now. How good is Balzsay? Would you put him as favourite over Inkin?
I am not sure exactly how good he is now, but as an amateur he was about as good as Bute. Most people in the know think he's a bit better than Inkin. Inkin and Balzsay know everything about one another, so the winner should really be the better man. If I had to guess here and now, I'd say Balzsay beats Inkin in a close fight, but, again, I am not sure. I agree there's plenty of good fights for Dirrell out there before he should go for a title shot. Once you go for the title, if you're in his position, you should have a better than 50% chance of winning and you should be good and experienced enough to hold on to that title against whatever mandatory challenger comes along. No point in rushing until then, especially if you're American (big promoter and US TV network interest).
Dirrell is ready for either Inkin or Balzsay. I don't see the point for Dirrel to fight another prospect, who Dirrell needs to fight is a good veteran that can test him, if Dirrell can't find that type of opponent, he should go straight for the championship.
