Dirrell can do it all. And im not being a hugger here. He fight south paw, he can fight othodox. He can counter punch, he can come forward, he can flurry, he can jab on the move. The part where he can jab on the move is going to be Froch's downfall. Froch has no defense, and really isnt a pressure fighter. He ranges his opponent, and tries to countery. AGainst someone like Dirrell who wont engage like Taylor if he doesnt have to is gonna cause Froch fits.

Taylor up 2 rounds at the time of the stoppage was fair. Taylor all but swept the first 6 rounds and the last 6 rounds were fairly even. Add the knockdown and I really dont know what fight your friends were watching. If fast hands are landing you count those punches.

    Example fights please :)

When I've got a spare hour I'm going to re score that fight & see where we differ. I don't just score points based on speed you've got to look at the bigger picture like how much of an effect punches have. Froch threw so many punches - in combination - in bunches - that even when Taylor was blocking you could see & feel he was wincing from the power - those punches had cumululative effects.

But I respect your POV and scoring is subjective (I still see 2 rounds up as a farce though). As I say when I get time I'll rescore and we can continue this ok :good

    Dirrell is a helluva counterpuncher.:deal

Froch better learn some headmovent before this fight..I'm telling you..He won't be able to shake off what Andre will put on him.

Froch himself stated that he was hurt by almost every punch JT hit him with.

Ive seen Dirrell counter in a few fights but the best ive seen him look is against Kost.

I dont think Froch or Dirrell are all that to be honest. Dirrell is very open as is Froch, but the speed disparity might make it hard for Carl to capatlise on any mistakes Dirrell makes.

On the other hand i dont think Dirrell needs to be Pernell Whitaker to take advantage of Froch mistakes.

Dirrell has been hurt before and addmitted that he was fighting through a fog, so he can be hurt, so Froch is capable of scoring a KO.

I tend to lean towards the more technically sound fighters with advantage in speed.

I wish people would stop going on about how difficult it will be for Froch to catch Dirrell because he is supposedly so fast.

I watched a few vids on youtube and the one that stands out was Hanshaw putting the pressure on Dirrell for the first rounds and landing relatively easily and even putting him on ***** street.

Froch has a long reach and a decent that jab (that could be improved like his speed of foot) so I am thinking will land the one two now and again and really test Dirrell shaky but not glass chin.

Froch needs to back Dirrell up because he will get took to school in the centre of the ring. I guarantee it.

Does Dirrell look on ***** street to you? It was obviously a slip considering Dirrell was ducking his punches against the ropes and just lost his balance.

I think the Hanshaw fight is not a good one to point to Froch's chances because if Froch was to try that stratigy he would probably have some success at first but would be leaving himself far too open to getting hit in bad positions (i.e. miguel torres and every other I have no idea how to fight, premature ejactulation MMA fighter that gets his ass badly knocked the **** out - lost money...still bitter). I think the better strategy for Froch is to try to build on what he did in the last half of the Taylor fight, which was basiclly keep it tight and just stick behind a one two. Dirrell doesn't seem to me to be the type to take risks unless he has too and if Froch can reach him then I can see him fighting defensively enough to allow Froch to take the initiative similarly to what taylor's stamina prblems allowed Froch to do. If he can't then he's ****ed anyway so yeah then maybe try the "Hanshaw hail-marry" but the result is always going to be Froch getting knocked out.
