December 21st on the Harrison vs. Charlo II undercard. 10 rounds @ super middleweight.

Dirrell, who took a bronze medal at the Olympics for the USA in 2004 and, despite being projected for stardom (and even being favored by some to at least reach the finals of the World Boxing Classic Super-6 tourney) has failed to ever hold a world title professionally, is returning from 1¾ years on the shelf after retiring on his stool in a rematch with José Uzcátegui. Cabrera, himself a two-time Olympian in his own right under the Dominican flag (whose other amateur credentials include lopsided victories over Alfredo Angulo, Yordanis Despaigne, and Jean Pascal, as well as drawing with Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam but losing on count-back) has alternated between 154 and 160lb for most of his career, and has also sat on the shelf for all of this year and most of last. He was supposed to have a pro "rematch" with Angulo this spring, but it fell apart for reasons unknown.

Yep, apparently. Jumping into the deep end here with a 40 year old light middleweight a fight removed from being knocked out by Erickson Lubin. :sisi1

I figured he disappeared after the beating he got from Uzcátegui. Kinda sad to see the level he’s fighting at now, especially with the talent he had...

Im just wondering if we’re going to see “The Matrix” or “The Resurrected”.

It’s baffling how he never achieved more, especially after arguably beating Froch.

Was it a big waste or overhype “eye testing”?

Dirrell by DQ. I wouldn't bet against Dirrell against anyone in history. He could get a win over Foreman using his DQ skills.

I don't think his heart is as big as most proffesional fighters. I mean how else do you explain his career?

I wonder if Dirrell still checks in to see Dr Shaw Hi. Maybe he can convince Dirrell to stop boxing before he gets into anymore injuries.

I dug his skills as well. Hard to see him do anything at this point. Seen him fight live and his motion was a thing of beauty. Reflexes, sharp and punches were crisp. Switch hit so easily. Yet he...damn I dunno what happened, maybe I fell for the okie doke...

Still maybe the dumbest any boxer has ever made themselves look on camera.
