Why the hell would this fight happen. Martinez wants big money fights and Dirrell doesn't bring more than ten people to his fights.

I think maybe you're underestimating the lineal/undisputed middleweight champion of the world against a guy who hasn't even won a world title eliminator at SMW.

Yeah, Dirrell uses movement but so does Martinez.

Sergio is slicker than Andre, and might even hit harder.

Dre is bigger, younger, faster. That's it.

u werent impressed by his slickness against Froch? i mean, he couldve let his hands go a bit more but his performance was pretty impressive. i cant see Martinez beating Direll with that hands down ****. Direll is one quick mofo and even harder to hit.

Dirrell would likely KO Martinez. . . Martinez is too bytch made to ever fight Dirrell, even if Dirrell wanted to meet at a catchweight. . .

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Come on son, Martinez has stopped 4 middleweights, Dirrell stopped 14 super middleweights (and put Froch on ***** street).

Martinez looked bad in his last two fights against guys who boxed from the outside. What does Dirrell do 99% of the time?

Dirrell is bigger, faster, more skilled and has better reflexes. It's a no brainer.

To be fair, I was at the Dirrell/Abraham fight, and there was a decent turnout . . . But then again, not really. . . I was expecting 5k plus to be there. . . There was definitely 3k on hand, though. . . Better than bradley, and Dawson can do in their hometowns.

Martinez isn't necessarily "slick". He's more unorthodox and unpredictable. But his last 2 fights have shown that when you box him intelligently, you can make him look ordinary for long stretches. Dirrell can box like hell from the outside.

Also, Martinez is 37 or so. That's REALLY getting up there. I just think style wise, Dirrell is all wrong for Martinez. Faster, younger, taller, bigger, better technician and can counter and move on his feet. I see Dirrell countering the heck out of Martinez and his wild attempts to get inside.

Dirrell smokes him pretty quick. Too much size, too much speed, (clown if you wish) too much power.

Martinez is slowly turning into a draw on the east coast. I don't understand why he would jeopardize that against a bigger guy who brings nothing to the table. Even less than Dmitry Pirog.

I agree - Martinez isn't very "slick" at all. . In fact, he's actually quite hittable. . . He really has no real defense (definitely no "guard"), but he just has such fast feet he skeets away from danger. . . Dirrell's hands are faster, and his feet are just as fast, if not faster. . . And the range/length dynamic wouldn't be in martinez's favor for once. . . Dirrell would either outpoint him easily, or possibly stop him if he upped the ante, and went after it.
