andre dirrell is highly skilled boxer. very quick and elusive will make u miss alot. hes very good but i just dont like how hes always falling and slipping. no doubt tho hes very good the job he did vs AA was almost perfect, but i do think AA still had to KO him at any giving moment bcuz thats wut he does. when andre fights sum one like andre ward some one with speed sum wut close 2 him. hes not goin to b able to do the things like shuffling his feet side to side back and forth to get out of trouble.
first guy to knock down AA and first time he got stitches...but the kid did nothing. He showed skill in the ring. if you think differently...it's just because you hate his style and favor the other fighter. I give credit to Dirrell for giving AA a boxing lesson.... Abrahams team will improve him now.... he been doing that same thing ...staying in the shell and giving away rounds for too long that now they simply have to change that....mobility too.... I was impressed how how bobbed and weaved out of the way when he was complaining to the ref and Dirrell was swinging at him.
yeah, it's called 'protect yourself at all time'... pity Dirrell forgot about it when he was down on a knee.
After the froch fight i thought dirrel was a little girl. I watched his team in the buildup before and it crossed my mind that they may all be idiots. Even though Arthur was well off his game that night i was very impressed by the skills and techique that Dirrel was showing for most of the fight. I didn't see any grit though, i didn't see any heart. Arthur had hardly hit him the whole night Now when Dirrel started looking like he was running on fumes, he started slowing and Arthur started connecting, he really didn't look like he wanted to be there. He was knocked down and it wasn't called. Arthur was getting to him and the little girl appears again and she dived from the ropes to the corner. I think arthur was entitled to follow her and keep throwing shots. However girls arent very athletic and with her week legs she slipped on the way in on some water left by the corner team. Most fighters protect themselves even when they slip, as the referee states at the start of each bout. Dirrel should have but didn't, he knew it. Arthur gave him a little of clip which he shoudn't have, he probably knew it was a bit naughty before he threw the shot, just like the many lowblows he recieved. Everyone watching knew it the same as arthur but it took dirrel about 5 seconds after taking the shot and looking forward again before he reacted. I think he knew exactly what he was doing, i didnt think the gently rolling over and classic one leg twitching looked real. From having a supposed seizure. ( would have been stretcherd out if he really did) he managed to get to his feet pretty quick and put on an oscar winning performace. I thought it, arthur standing cool in the corner knew it, after all he saw everything we saw it wasn't a big shot. he also fealt how hard it connected, he didnt look the slightest bit concered, and arthur would be concerend im sure if he thought he was genuine, any boxer would. Dirrel was handed the belt and never having been knocked out before could only overact textbook concusion. He was overacting now understanding how he had one the belt, he knew exactly how he had won the fight. He was putting too much emphasis into it, and the crying. In the interview arthur watches the replay, shrugs his shoulders and said what i was thinking, he was thinking and im sure everyone else was thinking " He's a good actor''. Dont know about you but presonally i jumped up off the couch and screamed exactly! That night i saw a king arthur pushed from his throne by nothing more than a cheat! Feigning injury, having no grit, heart, no desire to fight on when your in trouble, or getting tired and start looking for a way out all the time, the only way out for a champion when its gettting tough is to knock the other guy out, not yourself. That is not the mark of a true champion. I feel sorry for arthur, however.he'll win a title again someday. I dont see dirrel hangin on to his ill gotten gains for much longer. He showed me he has skills that night but skills alone dont make a champion. he has no greatness in him. i measure champions against men like muhammed ali, its a good base line to start off with. did you see even a bit of ali in there? any greatness whatsoever? nope, not even an alex arthur level champion. i wouldnt be surprised if they hold there world title the same aount of time. ps. I don't accept dirrel as the new champion. p.p.s 2 great champions fighting soon, froch vs kessler. dirrel you should watch it, im sure its gonna be one of the fights of the year as 2 great warriors collide. Ive gotta back my man froch, but im a fan of kessler too. p.p.ps kessler would also beat dirrel, easy
No it's not. Abraham was doing little effective work, and was lunging in wildly and getting countered. He was getting clearly outboxed. He doesn't really have another dimension.
After thinking about it for a long time, I am of the opinion that Dirrell faked the funk against Abraham. I could be wrong, so spare my time and yours by not starting the attack campaign that follows such a comment. I know this isn't the topic here, but when I think of Dirrell, I think of his "fall out".
take a look at Barrera against Pacman and numerous others examples - people put they hands up, put them on they head to avid rabbit punches etc. many think that AA did it deliberately, partly because there was a second or so between the slip and the punch. now, if that's the case, I don't see the reason why Dirrell couldn't put up the hands up in that second...he did it, albeit after the punch... AA could have also NOT avoid those swingers... would Dirrell be DQ for that? No break (in both cases the ref didn't say anything), protect yourself... as simple as that.
metephoricly speaking, im talking about the fact hes a *****, afthur has a loss on his record that he shouldnt have. about the fact hes only a contender and never will be a champion. hes never going to amount to nothing, hes not got a good character
Try watching it again in real time instead of in slow motion. It was less than a second. Abraham's head being over Dirrell's didn't help him to see Dirrell's body position either, to be fair. It still deserved a DQ though.
