Will Andre Dirrell's punch resistance be ruined after being hit by Arthur Abraham. Or will he be okay since it was only one punch and not a sustained beating. He should not be psychologically affected considering he was winning the fight.
but based on the history of such occurancces, is it likely that dirrell will be negatively impacted? I mean, he was not really knockced out in legitimate fashion. And it was only one punch. And he WAS winning the fight.
Very well could, that's the shame in the whole incident really. It was affect him mentally and psychologically too, no doubt. Complete bull****. He should've gotten 3 points. Now there's a strategy to fouling your way out to avoid getting KOed or just because they can't the same point totals as a decision anyway.
lol, what kind of goofball thread is this?!?!? You're talking about concussions..... no, though Dirrell was clearly winning, he also obviously flopped on the punch and wasnt able to continue, thus disqualifying Abraham. You watch it in slow-motion and you can see that he "dramatically" reacted a second after the hit.... it took him that 1 second to realize that Abraham would disqualify himself if he fell over Somewhat understandable since AA proves to be very dangerous all the way to the 12th round, ala Jermain Taylor. Also shows he doesnt have a champion's heart to get up from a hit that just grazed him and finish the fight with a "Clean" victory. Oh well, the fight ended with both being chumps. AA trying to bail himself out from his first clean loss by wacking Dirrell, and Dirrell appealing to his wishes....
Got to disagree... Im in no way a Dirrell fan after his 'Carl Lewis' display against Froch (a fight he would have won if he had a pair... as he learned against AA) but that late punch was a disgrace, and I feel it sparked him, not being in the ring at the time nobody can say if it was delayed reaction or not, but the boy was tagged... defenceless. Simple as that
Dude, he was definitely messed up, his legs were trembling and he was foaming at the mouth. Did you watch the post fight interview? He had no idea what the **** was going on.
AA thought he KO'ed him until he saw the tape (and he saw he was down) then all of a sudden he claims dirrell was acting. AA was getting his ass handed to him and stood no chance of a legit KO. AA will advance no problem after he KTFO Froch . . . I cannot wait:bbb
it looked like dirrell got hit pretty hard but i think i read that when he was released from the hospital they said he did not have a concussion. if he didn't have even a minor concussion it should not effect his punch resistance. but like someone else said ward will not test it

It'll be bull**** if Ward manages to stop Dirrell legitimately (which I see as a possibility) and all the credit is taken away from him because of Dirrell's chin being "ruined" by Abe's cheap shot. BULL****.
