Not like bang him out, put him to sleep. :yep He could, however, very well rough Dirrell up on the inside so bad that about a dozen unanswered punches land and the ref jumps in. Or the towel comes flying. Dirrell strikes me as mentally weak. If he can't keep from getting stuck under Ward's thumb he might be screwed...I just don't see him reacting well to serious adversity (and no, he hasn't faced the kind of adversity I'm talking about yet...not against Froch or Abraham, even though both are obviously bigger punchers than SOG).
This is something that people dont understand. Dirrell in his mind was winning both those fights easy, as well as the minds of many others. I dont think that Dirrell is weak, I think that he gets bored and loses focus in fights. He is also the only fighter in the super-six that has the skillset to beat Ward without a lucky sunday punch. I see the fight as a toss up. But I think that they have shown to be the class of the super-six.
I watched Froch-Dirrell again, and you know what? I think I disagree with you. He went strong against two fighters that certainly aren't pillow fisted and he honestly looked good doing it. What will bury Dirrell isn't lack of heart or conviction, I think he showed both very well... It's his blatant technical flaws, like backing up hands down chin up, his consistent lack of balance that caused the AA incident in the first place. Stuff like that is gonna get him absolutely KTFO like what happened to Judah. Except, replace Tszyu with Bute. What dirrell needs to do is tighten his defense, become more busy, and work on developing a legitimately dangerous punch out of his repertoire. As far as I can see, he has no weapons except speed.
I would hope not for Andre, no fighter wants their resistance ruined, and I dont think any true fans of the sport would wish it on a fighter. I guess we wont know till he takes another flush shot. Some fighters get KOd and continue to have a good career and solid chin like Duran, whilst others get KOd or just KD and their punch resistance just seems to go, a bit like D Reid. I worry for Dirrell in how it will affect him mentally, will it make him afraid to take chances or attempt any infighting and make him scared to commit himself. The punch looked solid but not the hardest and I fear that it might have caused doubts in Andre. Hope not, but until hes in the ring we wont know
Dirrell has a fragile Glass Mandible. He was nearly pole-axed by Alfonso Rocha and tubby journeyman Anthony Hanshaw. :roflatsch
dirrell showed good acting skills against AA. all we know about dirrell so far is that he's a good runner, a good actor, and has been knocked down by 2 bums :yep dirrell v ward = american hypejob v american hypejob. 2 years from now they will both be on the american hypejob scrap heap alongside jeff lacy, kelly pavlik, and jermain taylor :deal
Thats your opinion. He already made The one and only REAL KNOCK DOWN in late of that fight, thou Dirrel wasnt much hurt. AA was coming strong and made mistake and ****ed his own changes big time...
Ward couldn't stop the weak chinned Green who really was looking to be knocked out with his nonexistent defense.
