You both make good points. I still suspect that Dirrell is vulnerable to a well-placed shot in the right spot - and may have had this happen in the early, untelevised part of his pro career, or as an amateur. This would explain his "extreme caution" that he generally displays around one-punch KO artists (Froch is not one of those, and once Dirrell tasted a bit of Froch's power he knew it...Abraham and Curtis Stevens on the other hand are and he was far more defensive and took fewer risks against both...painfully so with Stevens). Of course, as strong as he is, Ward doesn't have the single-shot power to expose such a vulnerability - but he can, as I said, force Dirrell into an uncomfortable pattern. Dirrell won't be able to run or hide. Ward will be the first boxer with the same pedigree and capacity for slickness as he has. The same will be true in reverse, as well - but Ward is a bit more versatile and just seems tougher to me. That he has shown willingness to step outside his normal modus operandi in recent fights and do a lot of rough infighting shows that. Dirrell, if he gets pinned down and forced to play that kind of game, might not like it one bit.
