Nah, that was the corrupt USADA that completely ignored the WADA code to save Mayweather - the same code which they allegedly follow according to their site. VADA is much more credible than USADA.

 

Im the opposite, i cant be doing with Ward at all but as i say with any Boxer innocent until proven guilty. Saying that i dont understand how 1 of them is doing the VADA testing and the other one isnt. National testing like USADA or UKADA, not to mention the super dodgy Russian version, isnt enough VADA should be a mandatory requirment for every Boxer at and above a certain level.

two possibilities (that i can think of anyway) to account for the asymetric drug testing rule application:

one, the contract is similar to GGG-Jacobs--ie, the fight contract specifies VADA testing for both fighters and the promoters advertise as much. Jacobs signed up for VADA shortly after the contract was signed (this is clearly from the VADA website--"VADA welcomes Daniel Jacobs....") In other words, they both agreed to VADA; however, what VADA protocol lacks and what it seems the GGG-Jacobs contract lacked was a specific testing schedule or any sort of enforcement "teeth"--eg, each fighter shall submit at least four samples between the Contract Date and Fight Date or else forfeit $500,000

this seems absurd but remember drug testing is relatively new to boxing; it's had been in professional cycling for far longer when Lance Armstrong was gaming the system by just not being "available" to be tested

two, WBC title-holders must enroll in VADA-CBP; i think this might apply for titles from other sanctioning bodies because Kov is in CBP but never had the WBC strap. This doesn't explain Kov's compliance but not Ward's (Ward has the belts now) but perhaps drug testing is specified under provisions in the original contract

and to me, when the fight contract specifies VADA but one fighter does not submit any samples, then his fans reply with "some he a failed test or shut up" they are badly missing the point

 

Even if they are, it doesn't always help if the gulf in class is too large. Wach was roided to the gills against Wlad, and all it earned him was a longer beating
