Yep i totally agree, I read Kessler lives in Monaco not sure if that might of took his fire and hunger away living there if he lives the good life like most there as well as the dispute will Palle. Funny thing is if he beats Froch he's back on top of world gotta love this tournament.
i remember the buzz around him before the 2004 olympics. been well impressed with his skills on the way thru. just had a few doubts about him. not now though.
Yep, a knockout of Froch, or even just a convincing win and suddenly he could be sitting pretty with a matchup against Taylor who could be coming off 2 defeats potentially. It's still in his own hands. I still feel he'll get into the latter stages of this thing. It's just he needs a massive slice of luck now with the draw, as he probably needs somebody (most likely Abraham) to get Ward outta there as its seems very difficult to imagine a winning outcome in that fight.
It's great isn't it. The 2 fighters who've had it the worst, Kess and Taylor, are both fighting for world titles next up. They could be in a unification fight come June
It's madness :happy i think Ward Taylor was supposed or looked upon by many as the crossroads fight not a world title fight. If Ward loses that then he's in a poor position going into his last fight. By end of this tournament these 6 fighters will have been on a emotional roller coaster that most other boxers have never endured.
Yep i can't count Kessler out of this Comp. He lost to a good fighter...each fight is a pick em. I try imaging Ward fighting Abraham and each time i see a different fight. Abraham is such a strange fighter...i think you only understand how good he is if you fight him. His style look basic and lazy but it works wonders.
I think we've got to be careful before going overboard on Abraham. He was very convincing against Taylor but I think most of us considered Taylor the weakest coming in, even though Ward and Dirrell were unproven, at this point I'd definitely say he's the weakest after the first round. If he beats Dirrell convincingly then he'll definitely have earnt his favourite tag.
I see your point and understand what your saying. Taylor was coming off a heavy loss and at times i wasn't overly impressed with Abraham but i think his punches are very accurate and he is willing to give away rounds to hit you with three hurtful punches a round and take your punches and press you...for how long can he do it and can he do it to a fresher slick u.s fighter in Dirrell and Ward makes me wonder to.
Will be interesting to see what tactics Abraham deploys in the Dirrell bout. A slippery fighter like Dirrell will rack up the rounds early doors if he continues with his slow starts, will AA be able to exert the pressure in the later rounds. The Froch fight showed Dirrell is a hard man to hit. I personally think he will get to him, nothing fazes him and he just waits for the correct openings.
Been thinking along the same lines. I think he is more polished with his punches and judges range way better then Froch and uses what is known as a brain when boxing and i think that will help him get to Dirrell. He will proberly lose the first 5 rounds. Edge into it then break him down...i hope so
He's gonna have a lot of problems with Dirrell in America. He's not gonna be getting rounds for a couple of bursts. He is going to have to be accurate and put some hurt on Dirrell.
I hope so too. Dirrell was acting like a complete fool in the press conference with Froch, would be funny to see Abrahams reaction if he tried pulling the same nonsense. Dont think he'd get a rise out of Abraham. His attitude is much like his fighting style,he wouldn't get flustered in the slightest. Anyone know if Dirrell is like that all the time or was it just nerves?
King Arthur Just want's to be friends. I've seen bits and pieces of Dirrell and he seems a decent guy but talks alot of trash and crap about opponents and thinks he's on Roy Jones level atsch
Yeah that is very true. I think there's no way Dirrell will lose on points unless he gets hurt early and never recovers which i don't see. Abraham is best walking him down and just looking to KO him. I know it sounds crude but i can't see boxing politics and all the whinging helping Abraham on points.
made a full article about the subject then my comp crashed.....suffering from not a happy bunny syndrome.
