Andre S.O.G Ward will clean out 175 just like he did 168 and be #1 for years to come

    Cotto won't need to.

It will be up to linear MW champion Canelo, who, unlike Cotto, actually will fight him. That's a much more lucrative bout than Ward. And a win over Canelo would surpass anything on Ward's resume.

And a GGG-chocolate bout is also more lucrative than Ward.

All those are available, and as GGG is a few years older than Ward, Ward will still be there when the MW division has been taken care of. GGG will have the option of the MWs AND the SMWs. It makes no sense for him to do it in the wrong order and leave half of them on the table.

Ward is starting to look as pathetic as Kahn when he was chasing Floyd for a payday.

If he wants a payday, make Kov happen 3 lbs up instead of trying to move GGG up 8 lbs.

I've heard things like Kovalev is not as established yet and needs to build up his brand before he can fight Ward.

I will not be crying. I expect Cotto/Canelo winner (Cotto) to get Floyd #50 shot.

At that point, GGG is still 2 weight classes behind Ward so it would be hard to make that fight.

Such a f*cked up scenario but I would hope GGG would go for greatness and force the Ward fight.

Still no crying, Shock, even if he doesn't follow my wishes.

Golovkin vs Lee (if he beats his mandatory) and Quillen over 2016 would be a decent consolation prize.

I think Lee will want to fight GGG if he loses to BJS. If he wins, he might still want it depending on GGG's ppv number against Lemieux. Either way, I see Golovkin vs Lee happening within a year.

Because people don't want to pay for watching him fight, and he expects getting a lot of money even when he fights B and C level opposition.

Pretty much it. Any guy who can accept 2 million when he can only get 300k people to watch on free TV and his promoter has to give out free tickets and keep a straight face over values himself

Shouldn't fighters try and you know help there promoters to a certain extent? Goosen invested a lot in ward and did an incredible job with him eg home advantage and was paying him more than his value to fight the likes of e-rod, ward still tried to sue him and taught he was being screwed. I don't think anyone can say goosen didn't do a great job for ward.

Now Jay z has made the mistake of investing in ward. Given him that insane 2 million payday to fight paul smith when he should have been earning a tenth of that will only make matters worse. He will now expect at least that for every fight and will expects way more for an fight that people might want to see

Ward is not an exciting fighter. He is very skilled, much better than Chocolate, maybe even better than GGG, but he couldn't attract flies to sh-it.

    I don't.

But he has always been willing to step up and face the challenges. I expect he will stop Cotto, probably retire him and then it would make sense to take on the #1 at the division.

It makes legacy sense and $$$ sense.

Why would GGG risk that when Ward will still be there later ?

You are trying to persuade haters who are not listening anyway and will not change their opinion, because their real problem with GGG is not that his opposition has been weaker than one would like it to be or that he is not fighting somebody. Their real problem is that he is one of those Eastern "Euros" (whose names they can't even pronounce correctly) who are taking over professional boxing. Their problem is that Golovkin becomes more popular than Maywether, Ward and Wilder together. They see that he makes people excited and optimistic about future of boxing, while their favorite fighters are boring as hell, fight at catch weights, use pocket judges and cheat otherwise.

If he cleans out 175 then he definitely has a good argument.I think he beats Stevenson and Beterbiev.I'm 50/50 with him and Kovalev

GGG/Ward was never that interesting to me.I think it was just too much of a size difference.I don't think Ward would've had much trouble and it would kill GGG's momentum. Ward vs Kovalev/Stevenson is much more interesting imo
