Andre S.O.G Ward will clean out 175 just like he did 168 and be #1 for years to come

He can't fight Stevenson, Beterbiev, Fonfara and a bunch of other Haymon LHWs and SMWs. Signing with Jay Z was an utmost idiotic thing to do.

Son of Ireland has the potential to become the greatest Irish fighter of all time, and one of the best White-European fighters ever (behind zaggers, obviously)

He ducked Bute, Groves and DeGale at 168 and will duck Kovalev, Bute and Stevenson at 175.

Ward needs to start fighting three/four times a year.

    Time is not his friend.

Agreed, it's left Ward out in the cold when it comes to many potential opponents, his options are limited. It's probably why he still hasn't found an opponent for the Cotto/Canelo undercard, Hamon has a lot of key names in both divisions.

Ward didn't have many options at the time, though that was due to his own actions. He was desperate to get out of the Goosen contract and that just didn't seem like a possibility, god knows how long he'd be inactive for had Roc Nation not come in and offered to buy him out of the Goosen contract. He'd probably still be inactive and possibly stripped of his Super WBA belt if he had not signed that deal and I couldn't see anyone else lining up to offer Ward a deal like Roc Nation did.

I think Ward would actually match up well against Stevenson as long as he doesn't get sloppy and get pimp slapped on the way in.

Ward would wreck Stevenson on the inside, he has far better footwork so should be able to get into range and his compact left hook will wreck Stevenson due to his low lead hand.

Fight won't happen though, even if Roc Nation and Haymon agreed to the fight I doubt Showtime and HBO would agree, it takes a huge fight for them to work together like for Mayweather/Pac and Tyson/Lewis.

You are right. I feel exactly the same way about Canelo. No one can say he has dodged anyone.

I believe he will beat Cotto and then fight GGG... unless A. there is a truly compelling reason for him to rematch Cotto, or B. the unlikely 2nd shot at Floyd materializes.

At this point, I think he beats Floyd (no catchweight).

Floyd got him at the right time, but he has improved since and he has the experience of the first meeting.

I'm not taking anything away from Floyd's victory in their earlier fight where he clearly beat Canelo 8-4 or 9-3 (Judge CJ should be horsewhipped !)
I rank it as one of Floyd's very best victories, but he's lost a step or two since. Canelo saw Maidana and he's bigger and stronger and all-round better. I don't see a second Floyd/Canelo in the cards.

I like Andre Ward but he needs to fight more often. Yes, I know he has returned after a long layoff due to shoulder surgery... but he wasn't fighting very often prior to the injury either. Hopefully he has all of the "out of the ring" issues settled.

He's a very good fighter but during his layoff fighters like Golovkin, Kovalev, and even Beterbiev have gotten a lot of attention one weight class above and one weight class below the Super 6 winner. Even the winner of the upcoming Cotto vs. Alvarez fight has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Ward in the near future.

What about fighters at SMW? Who would be the best opponent for Ward at 168?

He beat Froch who wanted a rematch with Ward but has also mentioned retirement.

He beat Abraham who holds the belt and is 11-1 (3) since his loss to Ward. He avenged the loss to Stieglitz (KO4) with two wins (W12 and KO6). Does anyone want to see this rematch?

    James DeGale
    Badou Jack
    Anthony Dirrell
    Andre Dirrell

...all decent fights to be honest.

Light Heavyweight? Sure, good fights there as well but he can stay busy fighting the SMWs, Golovkin and the winner of Cotto vs. Alvarez... (I'm picking Alvarez).

All 4 are Haymon fighters, so idiot Ward who signed with Jay Z can't fight them as well as Stevenson, Beterbiev, Fonfara, JCCJ, etc.

What a moron ! Sued terminally sick Goossen who did so much for him and then signed with a promoter making best opponents unavailable.

I'm ready for Ward to move up some good fights for him at 175.
