If Kovalev was just some dude with power, I'd say Ward had a decent shot ... maybe he'd be favoured, even.

But Kovalev is the guy who outboxed and outfoxed Hopkins all night long. Ward has a major problem on his hands because if he can't outbox Kovalev he's got not plan B. His featherfists are going to bounce off Russian granite :deal Kovalev can still outslug Ward if by some misfortune Ward hangs with him in the skills department.

 

It's not good enough to pick Ward by UD is it? No, UD is too logical and understandable. You have to pick by TKO do get people to respond.

When time comes you wouldn't dare place a real bet on TKO. You'd pick him to UD Kovalev. You know it's true.

 

BCS8...I agree with you on kova...hes not just some powerful puncher...he can box...hes got skills

but him outboxing a limited Hopkins doesn't say a ton to me....Hopkins has a low workrate....hes easily to outbox and outwork these days...if yer a level beyond Kelly pavlik

yeah ward doesn't hit hard....but then again neither does Floyd...Floyd can get your respect with accurate and crisp punches.....if ward gets good clean shots in it wont go unnoticed

I just don't put a ton of stock in beating Hopkins at this point

 

This fight is literally the immovable object against the unstoppable force, seeing as Ward never travels outside of his hometown.

 

They'll milk a rematch out of it.

ward will become very defensive once he feels kovalev's power. he will run and hug a lot if he can't find a way to exit the fight.

 

I've been reading this dic heads posts for a while now and have never responded but a man can only take so much. I can accept Ward getting a decision over Kovalev but to think he has any chance of koing a beast like Kovalev shows this punk is in some serious need of stronger medication. Who does Ward ever ko? Ward is a very clever boxer but just where would you get to thinking Ward has any chance of gettig the ko? Just like we had to listen a 1000 times to FM Kos Pac rd 9. You seriously have no idea how to asses the outcome of fight. If any one gets kod it's Ward.
