Dawson, Too big Dirrell would get KTFO.
As a matter of fact I'm becoming somewhat of a Dawson fan in light of last night.
Alot of people seem to be dogging dude out just for losing a fight....

Who gives a ****? So he lost a fight big deal.
This is what's wrong with boxing, People tend to base skills off styles match-up's.

Some people you will win against, Some you will lose against.
Live to fight another ****en day.

In this case of Dirrell Vs. Dawson, I choose Dawson's "Size & Pure Southpaw" style to be too much for Dirrell.

Your opinion. But non biased opinion of The Ring and Boxing News both had Froch as the winner

Dawson is getting "dogged" on for acting like a baby.

"No excuses...butttt...HEADBUTTS, HITTING AND HOLDING, LOW BLOWS, REF STOPPED FIGHT EARLY, HE WAS A CHICKEN"

    Both of them are shite.
The only way this fight would be exciting if they both ko'ed eachother.

The only fight Dirrell actually stood in there and threw without hopping on his bike was against AA, and you could see that was the gameplan in 24/7. AA footspeed was just not fast enough to catch Dirrell during one of the few times he would come out of his shell every round and Dirrell and his team knew that, so he fired away at the guard all night from distance.

Only other fighter he has traded with is Oganov. I thought he beat Froch but lets not fool ourselves, he didn't trade em up that night either. I think people are putting too much stock into Dirrell pounding away on AA's guard last fight and really starting to overhype him, and he dropped AA but in no way was AA ever hurt.

This fight would be the worst possible fight for casual boxing fans, but I would give it to Dawson. I think Dawson would either win a UD by 4-5 rounds, or KO Dirrell. Dirrell wouldn't win the jabbing contest, Dawson is more than fast enough to catch Dirrell, both in hand and footspeed, he is longer and has better defense. Everybody is really hyping up Dirrell as being this unbeatable force, defensive wizard, and master of fighting off the back foot when his last two opponents were tailor-made to make those qualities stand out.

I think Dawson completely outclasses him. Dawson had a bad night, get over it.

Well Chad certainly couldnt afford to NOT let his hands go vs Dirrell. Dre is faster than Pascal, and better skilled. BUT Dirrell isnt nearly as tough as Pascal... I could easily see Chad knocking Dirrell's ass out late.

The majority of people on this site shift positions like specks of sand on a windy beach. Do this poll after Ward dispatches Dirrrell and the numbers will jump the other way. Dawson could knock out Otis Griffin and then he would be favored again based on a meaningless win. I wish I only had to bet against ESBrs rather than the book(public at large).

Give me a ****ing break. What did they do post the official result? Froch lost 9 out of twelve rounds and deserved to be hit for a least point based on his conduct.
Go ahead and go on the record about your expected result of the AA Froch fight.

Dirrell is the boxer in this match up. Dawson would be outboxed by Dirrell unless he shows he change his game & be more effective coming forward. Dawson can win this fight though, but if he's determined to be stubborn & fight "his fight," like he told Merchant he loses this fight.

Excellent post. Although I don't agree with "completely outclass" Dawson is now changing from overhyped to underappreciated. He still has some serious skill. Remember what some said about Dirrell after his very cautious performance against Froch? "He should be dropped out", "What a scared *****", "AA's gonna knock the blocks off him!"... Now people are doing the same to Chad.

Dirrell has a very dubious guard whenever you can manage to get inside his reach. Ward will really expose this if he gets close I feel. Dawson - being as tall as he is - wouldn't need that. Froch hit him with several jabs and that fight wasn't a robbery at all. AA suited him as an opponent although I give him huge credit for that performance. Dawson has better footspeed, handspeed and a cautious Dirrel may suit his own pressure-vulnerable style perfectly.

Tho onus is on Dirrell to be the aggressor. Just like you said, Dawson's probably gonna win the distance fight and has better defense. Dirrell could hurt Dawson as I tend to think his power is underrated but I don't think he really has that killer mentality to get his man out of there - incidentally, a bit like Dawson himself!

It all depends on how Dawson reacts to his loss and Dirrell's continual development must also be taken into account. A lot of "ifs". Unsure about this match-up but for now, Dawson is too much. It would probably a cautious match between two cautious outside-fighters. Dirrell's fight with Ward should tell us a lot about his true out-fighting skills.
