I mean really, what is he going to say?

"And then I realized that I was losing the fight by any metric, and even though I could depend on the hometown judges, I had to throw in a few low blows as an insurance policy..."

Not to mention the Canelo fight, Bivol fight, and Beterbiev fights. Couldve unified at 175...or at least tried to.

Let's be real, Ward lost to Kovalev in fight 1. Doesnt mean it wasnt a great fight but its a tarnish on both their legacies.

Still had an honest chance at unifying at 175...or at least shouldve come out of retirement for Canelo at 168...

Rename it 'killing the image of boxing: becoming a champion by holding, low blows and headbutts.'

    Nah. Not really at all.

He lost the first one and should have been DQ'd part 2 for wanton landing of low blows. You shouldn't be able to machine gun fire someone's nads in a boxing match and get away with it.

Unless the ref has an agenda, which we know Weeks most obviously did

    True about the first fight.

But in the second Kovalev wasn't doing too well even with his intent of his punches, by their first meeting Kovalev was already on the down side to begin with & then after being jobbed & most likely not training seriously for the rematch would've made it end in a similar note.

Ward had hit him hard with that right hand prior to that & if the Ref actually did his job correctly who knows how long it would have gone.

I liked, the book of Ward documentary on showtime. That's good enough for me though.

While I'm loathe to position myself on the same side as some of Ward's fans, I have always had tremendous respect for Andre as a fighter. Ward was gritty, mentally tough, versatile, more athletic than many give him credit for, and a skilled tactician.

And, notwithstanding the first Kovalev fight (which I believe he competitively but clearly lost), he was an absolute winner.

(and he was American, so suck it, you Euro Ameri-haters:lol:)

You'd have imploded too if your testes had taken the assaulting Kov's testes took too while the supposed rule enforcer looked the other way. That was BLATANT!!!!

Ward got screwed in the Seoul Olympics which everyone knows but it also made his career for him. He refused to fight oversees in case he "got cheated again" ROFL Even in the Super Six Tournament he had every one of his fights on home soil. Incidentally look at Kesslers face after Ward butted the heck out of it .
It looked like he'd used a razor on him Dirtiest modern day fighter for sure in my book

I hope he covers the intricacies of the headbutt and the best way to pay off the ref.
