Lets face it Mayweather was wildly unpopular despite being an undefeated fighter. Ward and Wilder are both class acts at least on the surface and both strong records now. Of course they both have detractors, some are valid gripes some are not. But overall can these two redeem the sport of boxing before they are finished? Or have they already? I lean towards yes.
Wilder has not fought anyone who can fight back, nobody..................SOB is a cheat, who needs to fight in his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., Ward is a dirty fighter, but he has never fought anyone as powerful as Kovalev, Kovalev is not only the hardest puncher in the light heavyweight division, he can box extremely well, he knows hot to keep his distance, has great timing and his trainer is perfect for him, not only Jackson, but he also has Don Turner...............
But he set a "Guiness Book of World Record" record in Russia. He sold tickets throughout Europe and people paid hundreds just to see him speak. Don't be too corny and dishonest. You don't like him and a few guys on this small forum of about 120 of the same people that post here everyday. http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com...n-and-accepts-certificate-for-being-th-409328 Every time a fighter wants to bring attention to themselves they say his name and you talk about how "UNPOPULAR" he is.:huh Mayweather is the most popular athlete on the planet.
Ward and Wilder are not both class acts. It's very far away from that. Ward has been carrying himself respectfully throughout his career and his behavior is usually well mannered. He has also defeated great opponents throughout his career. He entered the Super 6 tournament as an underdog prospect and defeated well established champions on his way to capturing the titles and winning the S6. Wilder, on the other hand, has been carrying himself like a typical street thug, displaying primitive and uncivilized behavior fairly often. I won't get into his current record, but it's fair to say that it's not comparable to Ward's. Basically, he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Andre Ward the way you are mentioning him. Ward and Wilder are the opposite of each other in many aspects.
Ward maybe. He seems a decent guy, likeable, well mannered and most of all an excellent fighter. Wilder won't as he won't be around as champ for much longer.
