As an American boxing fan since age 4. I'm personally amazed the credit Ward is given for his horrible showing last nite. The guy literally displayed no legitimate boxing skills whatsoever and for the most part did the same illegal, thats right ILLEGAL tactics. I had a casual fight fan watch along with my brother and I. Dude fell asleep after four rounds!! There is a reason a fighter fights that way. He knows he doesnt have a chin. Ask Ricky Hatton. The worst fights to watch have been Ward fights.

well i think most of the credit being given to Ward is from the Kessler fight. The Green fight does not add anything but lets him get a decent win for his first title defense.

Ward is borderline boring and dirty as well as beatable anywhere but in Oakland but from what it looks like he has a solid chin.

"He knows he doesn't have a chin. Ask Ricky Hatton" WTF? So, you are saying Ricky Hatton had no chin and so that's why he fought face first and got hit fight in and fight out because he had no chin? Wow. :patsch

Also, Ward used great tactics. Green let Ward bully him to the ropes. What was Ward supposed to not push him to the ropes? Green should have fought back, and if he did fight back Ward wouldn't have been at close quarters and beat the hell out of Green.

Ward beat the hell out of Miranda, Kessler and Green. He may not have lost a round in all three fights. He is the smartest fighter in the ring every time he steps in the ring. He took solid shots from both Miranda and Green, both big punchers. As for not being able to win outside of Oakland, that was the 3rd fight in his career in Oakland. And I don't remember him winning the gold medal in Oakland either. That's realism. With an "s".

Ward does have better fundamentals than RJJ, by a long shot. I guess the average person cant see that and is overwhelmed with RJJ's speed. The more athleticism u have the less u rely on basic boxing fundamentals.

The reason green looked like a bum was because he was fighting a far superior fighter just like mosley was fighting a far superior fighter in PBF. Again, fly by night boxing fans cant appreciate these facts.

Some people just can't for the life of them understand the sweet science, ward is on the brink of being one of the best boxers in this generation, the way he beat Green was flawless. To be able to stand in front in the box of your opponent and take almost no damage in return should tell you nasayer's something about this man's ability to fight.

Green was never given more than a puncher's chance to win that fight. Nobody expected him to pull off a decision. So I'm not impressed that Ward won, I expected him to. Hell, if Green had won then we'd have Edison Miranda wanting a rematch with Ward. :scaredas:

But I did enjoy the skills Ward displayed, and yes, I'm referring to the infighting. He could definitely do better, but it was a huge improvement from the Kessler fight. Huge. I expect Ward to continue employing the same infighting tactics, but I expect him to get even better at it. And he wasn't fighting illegally.

Its getting depressing to see people continue to sicount the sweet science.. How many fighters have to get owned.. Miranda, Kessler, Green, Froch, Abraham, Bute, Dawson..

I'm tired of Ward, Hopkins, and Mayweather not letting their opponents hit them. This is boxing damn it and what they do is illegal.

Where he employed most of the same tactics? Man, america is really
desperate for a black superstar, to be proud of any of wards wins.
