Plenty of guys make comebacks simply because they want to fight again. Fonfara made his comeback last weekend and I doubt he did it for money.
Lots of good fights for him. He had a chance to fight Canelo, but had a life outside of boxing at the time, so understandable he turned it down. His schedule cleared a bit so maybe he can do it at 175 now. He was training to fight AJ, and maybe that fight is still out there for him Of course now Usyk in in the picture that fight can happen. But I think if he comes back it will be to fight Bivol if Bivol beats Beterbiev. That's a fight he can win on the cards in Murica. If Beterbiev KO's Bivol, Ward might have a life outside of boxing to get back to.
I reckon an old tired Ward can still knock Jake's pee-pee in. Folks who hate cheaters shouldn't be boxing fans. Go find a combat sport that wasn't founded by scoundrels and charlatans. This **** Sparta-kin
Bivol, Beterbiev then Usyk. 3-0, then sails off on the tears of the nuthuggers...........again! Bwahahahahaha.
Y'all know I love me some Usyk and respect Bivol and Beterbiev. Dudes are awesome. I don't think any active fighter, not a heavyweight, can go through all 3. Right now, I can't think of a heavyweight that beats Usyk.
I don’t know like, his philosophy was win by any means and he always did. That makes a great fighter in my eyes. Like Real Madrid in football even when they are playing bad or tactics that are terrible on the eye they find a way to win
He did beat some tough guys, near prime and at the top of their division. Say what you will about his rough housing tactics, aside from Kovalev, those antics had very little affect on how his opponents fought.
I don't usually like that style either, but the way Ward did it, I didn't find it boring. It mostly wasn't off the backfoot and scampering around trying to win by not fighting. Lots of wrestling but closer to the Duran kind than the Wlad kind (he never enjoyed a size advantage that would permit laying a massively heavier torso across the back of his opponents until they were exhausted and could be easily KOd). He fought dirty, no doubt. Casamayor or Bhop or Bradley or who...sure I left some people out. Lotta people rabbit punch without really gaining a "dirty fighter" label, despite that being among the riskier transgressions. He was wicked smart in the ring and in executing a game plan and very strong while not being a big puncher. One of my favorites in the ring and a provider of tears over ice to back my bourbon neat. Beyond the ring? He gives intelligent commentary when he's able to overcome the urge to sell who he's rooting for (like everybody else). That said, I find him to be a bit smarmy and goody 2 shoes. Will check out his show or whatever it is, but not sure I'll be a regular.
