Along with Calzaghe lol. Wards a long way behind. Ward would possibly make the top 10 but wouldnt be top 5 to anyone who knows the division and knows it from the start
Bute was out on his feet against Andrade and had to be,saved by a hometown ref. The first time bute faced an elite fighter in froch he melted down in grand fashion. He was also a ped abuser. There is nothing to suggest that any version of bute beats the super 6 version of ward.
I agree that Bute was badly hurt against Andrade, which can happen in a fight and the return shows not every fight would be the same. Ward was on wobbly legs against Boone and looked hurt by Kost who were not as highly rated as Andrade. Looking at how they both looked at SMW, I would disagree. Undefeated Bute would have been a tough fight. Styles make fights and I dont think Ward could walk through Butes shots like Froch could. Yes Bute lost to Froch who Ward beat but also look at how Bute looked more convincing against a prime Bika compared to the not very active version Ward fought or how they both looked against Miranda
How is Wards better lol. This will be good. Tell me who these better SMW victories for Ward are against
Abraham Kessler froch and bika. Froch and Abraham are the two that give ward the edge. Calzaghe had the longevity but to be honest most of those guys were trash. I'm a calzaghe fan but that's why he used to get bashed because of his resume at 168 and that's the truth.
Thats hysterical when you forget that Calzaghe had beaten Kessler and Bika before Ward fought them and the faded version of Kessler that Ward fought beat Froch, so not sure what that edge is lol. Froch wasnt greater than Eubank that Calzaghe beat and Abraham was coming off 2 S6 losses and not greater than several Calzaghe victories I can think of but will just say not greater than Mitchell for name sake. Calzaghe has the greater SMW victories in undefeated Kessler, Eubank, undefeated Lacy, undefeated Veit, Brewer, Mitchell, Reid, Woodhall, Bika before Ward. All world rated fighters who all had been or were or who became SMW title holders, then you can go on to the other victories that also hold weight. Its not even debatable
Stop it! Lacy was trash and a hypejob Eubank never won a fight again after losing to calzaghe he was done at that point and froch without a doubt was better than the version of Eubank calzaghe beat. Abraham went on to win titles at 168 after losing to ward there. Kessler beat froch after losing to ward. Viet was trash brewer was trash I could go on and on. Yes calzaghe stayed there longer and had more wins there that counts for something but 90% of them weren't even worth talking about.
SOB is a cheating lying criminal! SOB had Kessler to fly across the ocean to his home town with SOB's personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., SOB started headbutting from the beginning, he knew he could cheat because his referee would allow it. The fight was stopped on an intentional illegal headbutt! Even the commentators mentioned it! SOB had to hit Kovalev in the testicles to win the rematch, SOB lost the first fight also with paid off judges. SOB is nothing but a cheat! SOB said he would easily out boxing Joshua, he did not sign to fight him. SOB said he would knock out both Klitschkos easily, but he did not sign a contract! SOB is a damned liar like Trump! He cheats like Trump! The video and pictures do not lie! Calzahge did not have to cheat and he won fights outside of his home town, unlike SOB! I can't stand that cheating lying criminal! H2H very good. Would clearly outpoint Joe. Would give Roy some trouble but likely lose. Legacy lacks longevity but man for man has some good names on it.
interesting line. You are not a complete loss, FB. Calzaghe - "I had to lowblow him didnt I? He'd just knocked me down" (talking about preventing getting stopped in rd 1 by a 40something)
This is where you are getting yourself confused and think titles mean more than opposition. So Veit was trash, yet a fighter that he beat when that fighter was prime is now in the WBSS tournament which says it all. Froch at around 34/35 was not better than Eubank at 31. Froch was coming off a debatable decision to boiled down, faded G Johnson. Eubank was a world class fighter with a far greater resume. Froch was on a run of debatable decision to Pascal who wasnt a top SMW, last round win in a fight he was losing to Taylor who wasnt a top SMW, debatable decision to Dirrell who wasnt a top SMW, loss to faded Kessler coming off a loss and with eye problems, a win over a Abraham coming off a loss, a debatable decision over faded boiled down G Johnson who wasnt a top SMW. That isnt better than Eubank who had wins over Benn, Wharton, Watson, Holmes, Malinga, Rocchigiani to name just a few Lacy had beaten Vanderpool, Tsypko, Sheika, Pemberton and Reid as a world rated SMW. Abraham had been clearly beaten in his 2 Super 6 fights before he fought Ward and beat who? Steiglitz? He was also beaten in 3 by Steiglitz, but somehow you think he was better with losses than undefeated Lacy. You note Kessler beat Froch after losing to Ward, but fail to note somehow that Kessler had already lost his 0 to Calzaghe before that??? That shows that Froch was on a similar level to a faded version of Kessler rather than a prime version that Calzaghe beat. Veit, Kessler, Bika all won titles at SMW after Calzaghe beat them and Reid looked to some that he could have got the decision against Ottke, but its not the winning of titles that count but who they beat. Calzaghe beat prime Kessler which is greater than Wards win over faded Kessler Calzaghe beat Eubank which is greater than Wards win over Froch Calzaghe beat Lacy which is greater than Wards win over Abraham coming off 2 S6 losses Calzaghe beat Bika before Ward which is greater than beating rusty inactive Bika You have no real debate to this and even if due to you not knowing the division very well, would not be able to argue that Calzaghe had many other wins that alone would swamp that in Brewer, Veit, Reid, Woodhall, Mitchell, Sheika, Mkertchyn, Starie, Several of these wins, I would rate above Wards win over Abraham
It was a good win for Ottke in that fight. Reid was a strange fighter who could blow hot and cold and he just really didnt do much against Branco. I think a motivated Reid could have won that fight but Branco well and truly deserved that decision. Motivated Reid was a completely different fighter. I recall how D Williams didnt seem to do as much in his third fight with Sprott, which I felt looked a similar sort of situation?
